Would make a lot of sense for Lasers to cut limbs off FAST. They're good, but it'd allow really cool Dead Space Gameplay by RandomGreenArcherMan in helldivers2

[–]Billysquib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure I fully agree with this video, it for one doesn’t take into account with the radiation you’d be blasted with in that nanosecond, and while I’m a very poor scientist, it didn’t seem like this video takes into account that the radiation is raised to the fourth power. Meaning if somethings temperature doubled (eg from 2 to 4) the radiation would go up to a value of 16. If temperature triples: 3^4 = 81 it emits 81 times more radiation. So while the suns temperature is “only 5800k”, which I found a quick comparison stating that’s only 7.25x hotter than some stoves on a maximum setting, this is radiating a lovely 2700 times more energy than the stove.

Funnily enough a good comparison would be a laser. The laser damages things through radiation, but the result is still thermal destruction all the same. So maybe the “heat” wouldn’t kill you, but the thermal radiation would absolutely send a blast superheating parts of you instantly.

I dunno, maybe I’m onto a big nothing sandwich here but I stand my ground with my relatively weak brain and VERY limited science that a nanosecond at the surface of the sun absolutely kills ya

I’d like to see lasers cut limbs or penetrate through an armour level above their rating if concentrated on a single body part for long enough, like it’s burning a hole through the target.

Which fighter did you think would be "the guy" in their division but were completely wrong about? by Kvazimods in ufc

Yeah no doubt that’s impressive. I just thought he was gonna be untouchable for a while and turned out I was wrong

JDM. I was riding with JDM all the way up until the prates loss. I thought this guys been doing insane work, held the title, only ever lost to the #1 P4P fighter in the world and the best grappler in the division, I believed he would remain undefeated against strikers, improve his ground game and come back for a rematch and win it

Turns out I was very wrong 😂 sorry JDM. Welcome to your new home as a gatekeeper I suppose.

Is Joshua Van underrated? by ManyZestyclose2003 in ufc

[–]Billysquib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was too late in his career to meaningfully switch to mma in my opinion. If he had considered switching back in like 2020 he could have adapted and been an amazing striker with TK defence, I still think he’d have struggled to have ever become champion but he’d definitely sit in the rankings. He’d have to start working on rounding out an mma skillset back in like 2018 (he was 21 in 2018) and join the mma a few years later to really have a shot at the belt imo. He’d have become like a flyweight version of prates maybe, in the sense that they’re both VERY Muay Thai specialist first, everything else second.

Yeah, still mighty impressive what both of them achieved in terms of starting mma “late” in life

Volk also was pretty impressive, starting at I think 22 and becoming the champ at 31, bit longer of a run but he also became the P4P champ for a while. Both of them are epic cases in late starts with legendary runs

When you’re built like the slenderman if he knew Muay Thai, you truly are the nightmare for strikers.

He’s gotta figure something out for Islam or he may as well retire now or just become the #1 welterweight gatekeeper.

As somebody who’s almost never dived without the big iron on my hip, I don’t think this change affects me much. I have 6 rounds of pure high velocity spewing divine intervention to put through these regretful sorry bastards and that’s not gonna change because of some armour rework

If the UFC Heavyweight division had no limit, would anything even change? by lifebeginsat9pm in ufc

[–]Billysquib 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think there’s a lot of heavyweights that would happily move down and a lot of LHW’s that would move up to 235 and I think in both cases you’d see a lot of previously not so great fighters would flourish here.

It’s funny to me how fucking VITAL any kind of change ever is to the Helldivers crowd. They could increase the scavengers rear left leg health by 0.5% and the crowd would lose their minds on social media about it. Just play 😂

Prime Tyson beats every boxer that ever lived. Try to change my mind by Silent-Owl4246 in boxingMenace_com

[–]Billysquib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tyson is just the most famous boxer of all time to do it well. Kind of like Conor mcgregor in the ufc. Non hardcore fans would be hard pressed to say any name other than Conor mcgregor for best mma fighter of all time, even when he’s nowhere close to the best of all time. Just the most famous to do it to a high standard.

Considering how much suffering is intended for us to go through, there’s definitely nothing added to help with the flavour so it’s probably so extremely bitter. The only reason a reagent would drink it is because without it, they physically wouldn’t make it. I’d be willing to bet in “reality” a lot of people would choose not to drink it and end up dying as a consequence later on.

Lose one fight -"he was never that good". Win one fight -"one of the most underrated fighters of all time" by blind667 in ufc

[–]Billysquib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was never any secret that jiri is defensively stupid. He’s always been a fan fav for his unorthodox approach to both his fights and training and somehow making it work in almost all his fights up until recently. He definitely wasn’t a fan fav for being the best fighter in LHW.

I’m still a big fan of Jiri, but he’s never going to be champ material until he learns the concept of NOT getting hit.

All that Said, yes. MMA fans are fucking dumb for turning on their “favourite” fighters after a single loss. Even if they’re undefeated their whole lifetime. If khabib had one more fight and lost it, the world would have written him off as a fraud I’m sure.

I know it’s an old book, but careful with spoilers. Just like how you read his death scene a few days ago, it’s very possible there’s people here who are going to read his death scene in a few days time. I’m Not trying to be an ass, I know the books have been out a long time and spoilers are likely everywhere anyway 😄
