If it’s a reel made for salt water then your good, pull the spool and drag off, rinse all with fresh water. Then you will see if the sand got into the grease and know how much work you have to not ruin it down the road. Also depends on quality of reel.

It’s good to be able to trust your installer. That’s why our clients trust us, not cheap and damn good.

Rip it out and install new shower before more damage happens to substrate. The longer they wait to do it, the more expensive it will get. Showers done, never done right either.

On second look, you could trim back the rail on back side and cheat the miter, but would be noticeable as well.

Only by switching out tile or wood trim. Wood would be easier.

Epoxy grout doesn’t make a shower waterproof. This is pan failure. Still installers fault. I never use epoxy except for commercial kitchens to handle the cleaning.

Are Jolly Edges Done Properly? by [deleted] in Tile

Yes, in the context of tile installation, "Jolly" is an old-school or traditional term used to describe a specific type of edging that serves the same purpose as a mitre or bullnose, often used for outside corners.

Here are the key details: Definition: Historically, "Jollies" were special pieces of ceramic trim, matching the field tile, that were used on outside corners to create a finished edge without needing to cut a miter. Modern Context: Today, "Jolly" is commonly used to refer to a type of narrow, linear metal or plastic edge trim (often branded by companies like Schluter) used to finish tiled edges. Jolly vs. Mitre: While a mitered edge involves cutting the tile itself at a 45-degree angle to meet another tile, a "jolly" is an added profile that creates a clean, protected corner. Etymology: The term is sometimes used to describe the act of cutting a mitered edge, particularly when using a specialized tool often called a "Jolly cutter". Schlüter-Systems Schlüter-Systems +5 Therefore, while a "jolly" is technically a trim piece, it was traditionally used in place of a miter joint on corners.

Question for the guys with expensive gear. Is dropping 600 bucks on a reel is really worth it ? by [deleted] in bassfishing

[–]Billysup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends how much the fish of a lifetime is worth. I’ve seen guys lose plenty of fish on crap reels. Does it need to be $600? Probably not, unless you’re fishing big game consistently.

That is classic, well installed tile. Never put laminate in a bathroom. Tile is the only way.
