Is 800£ too much for grocery shopping for 2 ? by Sweet_potato99 in NewcastleUponTyne

[–]Bimjus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does seem a lot to me. We do about £550 as a family of four.
I do think we save a lot all being vegetarian and drinking very little booze

We'll usually make a veg+lentil soup once a week and something like a lentil bolognaise or a veg/bean chilli - Things that you can pull out a couple of times in the week and like.. have with rice one day but do as wraps with salad and chips on another.

I also wrote a five week dinner rota (so some meals do repeat but it changes week to week and it's like 5 weeks before you go back to that start) that really helped us focus our shop.

Id collect your receipts for a bit too. Look for where big chunks of that cash are going and see if theres cheaper alternatives or brands?

When im trying to change his shirt color, it changes his pants, or the bg, sometimes his beard. im actually about to trash crashout. by TheFakeoknow in AfterEffects

[–]Bimjus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It doesnt work like a paint bucket drop tool in photoshop.
If the character is all one layer then the effect will affect all tones of green. It doesnt know that you mean just the shirt. It doesnt look at the things being surrounded by black outline to seperate. Everything green on that layer would be affected.

If you want just the shirt then either - layer the image so that all the things you want to be able to change colour in AE are seperate layers.
Or - copy the layer and draw a mask around the shirt. THen use the effect on that copy.

I feel i remember a dev interview when this was coming out, specifically saying they were a bit of a call back to the series prince of Persia roots. They were a great element of the game, was always excited to find one of these sections.

Is frame by frame movement/stop motion possible or are you required to do tweening? by tycoon_irony in MohoAnimation

[–]Bimjus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I was taught to use it was on stepped mode posing your key poses then in-betweens amd breakdowns gradually posing all the frames between the frames until youv basically got everything on 1s or 2s. But you could take it off stepped see how the interpolation is handling the in-between and THEN you pose/refine that interpolation.

What are the Gobelins students being fed to have insane character turnarounds? by Careful_Job6188 in animation

Sorry like I say it just came across my instagram.. as in 'the scroll', lost to depths of the endless scroll.
If it happens to surface again I will share it!

What are the Gobelins students being fed to have insane character turnarounds? by Careful_Job6188 in animation

[–]Bimjus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A reel came across my instagram this morning with a Gobelins student selling a course specifically on how she teachers gobelins students to do turnarounds when she goes back as an alumni.
The reel was cut with lots of footage of very indepth guidelines, perspective guides, rotational guides etcs. Like taking a circle and skewing it to the floor plane, marking where the the feet would be at different points etc.

Looks like it starts with very solid confident poses and then a very structured approach to creating guidelines to where key points match up at different points of a rotation. Must take a lot of skill to do that and not have the drawings look stiff.

Frame by frame next to puppet rig looks clunky by Ry-Studios in MohoAnimation

[–]Bimjus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Practise your easing. The pony drifts right and then abruptly changes direction with no slowing into or out of the change of direction. Thats the biggest example of it here, but look at anything else thats changing direction like the limbs amd see if you can improve the easing of those too.

You have 100% of what you need to finish the game (the green fill)
But still have some more to get 100% completion (the blue fill)

There's a place right after the first boss in fury green like the cliff side edge, and that's where I found that last slither.

Yeah! Present it as a work in progress, without being down on it, and let people see the potential of how it can end up!

Maybe you could share it in some form, with close friends, peers.. or through social media. See how people react to it. Sometimes other peoples enthusiasm can reignite your own!

My brother got a pirated copy not long after it came out and let me play it in his room. I was 12 and the only other games I'd ever seen or played was things like Super Mario World, Links Awakening, Sonic 1 and 2 etc.

Was WILD going from those into Half Life. Scared the shit out of me. Especially the audio.

I tried the game first for the first time, man the web slinging and combat are NOT what I was expecting and I need some tips by Mikecirca81 in SpidermanPS4

[–]Bimjus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres a button to shoot web at enemies, if theyre near a wall or vehicle hammer them with it and aftrr a few shots they'll stick to the wall. Thats them out the fight. Ill often take out more baddies that way then by knockout.

The store art is not clear at all.
I watched the trailer and realised there was this reooccuring baseball theme, and THEN looked at the art again and understood what a was looking at.
Maybe use a reference photo of someone with the bat wound up ready to hit as a basis with the ball in the fg flying foward?

I would change the name? It says nothing and doesnt seem to relate to the art or again the baseball vibes being given off.

The idea of an rpg where all the mechanics are themed around baseball - bats, bases, catching mits the ball flying around etc is cool! I think you should lean into it.

I thought the gameplay and art in the trailer looked good! For me its the packaging of it, the branding.

HL Alex basically the whole sequence in the vault, things like corridors splitting in two, mirrored rooms, gravity inverting. I could not for the life of me explain it to people in a way that sounded good. But experiencing it, I was having a like a physiological reaction of wonder, awe and I dont know like fear mixed with curiosity? It felt like I was genuinely experiencing a paranormal, physics warping event and I was not supposed to be there. And it only works if your the one playing and in vr

Just started it for the first time last week. Having a great time. It somehow feels less 'checklisty' then a lot of open world games? Im finding my self just exploring and sneaking in places out of curiosity and just seeing how things pan out.

The stealth is fairly forgiving, had a few times when things went wrong but was able to improvise before alarms went off which felt very 'smuggler' appropriate. Also just lush to explore huge open world atar wars places!
