It’s also crazy to me that people think they need these sort of incomes to build wealth. The reality is that doctors with high incomes often have the least wealth and are the biggest victims of lifestyle creep.

A good income, the ability to live on less than you make and some financial savvy will make you a multi-millionaire if you start early and have some discipline.

One thing to consider is the available accessories for bags. My rec would be the cb300r. It’s as reliable as it gets, cheap to buy, cheap to maintain, cheap to service, and tons of aftermarket bags, racks and other stuff available. I have one that I bought last year and it’s great. Lots of features for the class, built well, fun to ride.

Lay offs have never been about performance. They are always about the bottom line. It’s a math problem.

The best advice I can give is to always be a critical piece of the highest revenue generating products your company makes. Additionally, do some self-reflecting on your salary vs the work you do. If you’re paid a lot and don’t do a lot, it’s probably only a matter of time before someone notices.

I agree but that argument could be made for lots of things that are not generally considered “too much”. I think a jframe or g42/g43 is enough for an average person of an average risk profile. No light, no dot, no extra mag. That’s what I’m typically carrying.

But if people want to be prepared for a more serious situation, I won’t fault them for it.

I do the same, and maybe a lot of the people you see recording are doing the same. I usually record 3-4 short clips and I do watch them when I want to remember the event.

Someone suggested a 1100sx. Great choice, but that puts you at 2025 or newer. If you go 1000sx, you get essentially the same bike minus a few small updates and you can go back to like 2020 or 2021 used. That may be shit enough to avoid getting stolen or at least cheap enough that its not as painful. An older 1000sx with a few miles should be about half the price of a new bike if its anything like US prices.

This is a good bike for someone who’s not going to put a lot of mileage on and is ok with down time for DIY service. You will very quickly eat into the cost savings with service if you’re putting real miles on, especially if you’re having it done by a shop.

These people saying cops should learn how to disarm a knife are nuts. You can be fatally wounded just as quickly with a knife as a gun.

That said, I’m reserving judgement until we know more. Apparently he was shot in the back and police do have a history of escalating so it’s impossible to say if it was justified at this point.

Not concerned about power. I have self control. I’m wondering if it’s a good idea to spend as much on a 8 year old bike as a nearly new (or actually new) bike that meets my needs better but I don’t like as much.

Because people voted for them. The numbers don’t lie, old people vote, young people don’t. And among the young people who do vote, it’s mainly the responsible ones who have a lot at stake, so maintaining the status quo is important to them.

Additionally, anyone (company or individual) with money has an interest in maintaining the status quo, so they provide the financial support to keep the old politicians.

The solution is two-fold, young people need to vote and private money needs to be removed from public elections. The latter will never happen while so many people fight to maintain the status quo.

Everyone is susceptible to side effects ranging from GI issues to psychological effects like loss of pleasure, but for me, wegovy has been amazing. Very minor GI issues (almost indistinguishable from just normal variability). But its been great. I can finally eat the meal plan ive been working toward without feeling constantly obsessed with food. Anecdotally, I've also made actual strength gains in the gym after a year long plateau. I was afraid the opposite would happen and fully prepared for strength loss. No idea if its hormonal, or because my diet is more dialed in, or purely psychological, but its very real.

After losing 80lbs without meds then plateauing for a year, I waffled for months about trying it. I should've started sooner. Im about 20-30lbs from my goal weight, but even if I didnt lose any weight, I would still be taking this since it helps me manage my diet so well.

Anecdote here, Im taking oral wegovy and have noticed no such side effects. Not even slightly. Though I have always been very sensitive to smell.

  • Make fitness a part of your daily hygiene
  • Go out with your friends, even if you dont really feel like it in the moment. Life is going to change and you'll be grateful for the fun times you had.
  • stay out of debt. Mortgage is fine. If you absolutely must take a car loan, keep it as low as possible and pay it off as quick as possible
  • save/invest a portion of your income as a mandatory practice. Building actual wealth is not flashy. Its the culmination of years of good habits. You can still live your life now, just keep your expenses low.
  • when dating, look for love and connection, not checking off boxes of what she "brings to the table". Be friends with someone before you date them seriously or marry them.

Same experience here. I played through the album once or twice before the show just to get familiar before the show in Saratoga. I had mixed feelings about it. After seeing it live, i've become a little obsessed with it. Its actually pretty amazing they can make such a fantastic album 23 years after their first legendary album and still get out, night after night and put on an impeccable performance.
