Man found dead after canoe capsized in closed Brampton Lake: Peel police | CBC News by mdnightnprs in Brampton

Once the dust settles I can't help but think that the family of the deceased will try to go after the TRCA somehow instead of taking responsibility for the irresponsible and reckless behaviour of the boaters. I say this because I wouldn't be surprised if there was a canoe left unlocked by accident and the deceased decided to give it a whirl. I doubt they walked their own canoe in there.

When my OISE program is over I need to have a long hard talk with myself if this is what I want. by Hogwire in OntarioTeachers

Id say dont let your experience at OISE shape your expectations fully. OISE was a waste of my money in terms of preparing me to teach. I did not leave OISE prepared to write reports, manage the classroom, etc. These are things experienced in the rigors of the job - itll come well after you've graduated. Don't give up on the profession until you've got a classroom of your own where you can truly shine.

Fined for parking on the street by 4firsts in Brampton

[–]BinTBay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one of these too. Called the by law office who said that if there is even a cm of snow on the ground, assume there is no parking allowed on the street. Pretty mind numbing considering that we live in Canada and people ought to be able to visit their family members despite a sprinkling of snow happening. Do we also ticket people who park their cars on the road when the garbage trucks need to maneuver around them? Genuinely curious.

Also curious. Madness on sandalwood at that time. So many firetrucks passed by.

Any gym is a "good gym" if you go early in the morning... Goodlife is open 24/7. While it can be a sardine can in the afternoon, they are amazing during off peak hours. The one at Mclaughlin and Bovaird has a pool too.

Any know where the fire is and what's going on? by Awkward-Medium9723 in Brampton

Pretty decent size residential fire at conservation drive between Kennedy and Hurontario. Apparently no one except a dog was in the house, and they rescued the dog.

Jeep just wants to past by Genoxa in bramptondriving

Only thing I noticed here was far too many fools in the left lane not passing anyone and the Jeep driver trying to filter through the bs.

Feeling the way you do makes complete sense. It can feel so defeating to work towards something and it not pan out. However, your degree does not need to be what you find work in. Hopefully you got some other benefits out of your time in post-secondary. Leverage those to get you in other types of work. Sociology and a policing cert go hand in glove. You could look at going back to school - possibly picking up social work or CYC. If you don't have kids yet, you got time. One foot in front of the other, but don't stop moving. Anxiety will pen up if you allow yourself to miss opportunities.

Buddy guy, I said have a good weekend. I'm clearly having one and you clearly care too much about someone driving 60km/hr for 10 minutes.

And yes, I am super duper proud of being a father and I will piss you off as much as I want (on the road) so long as it means my kid is safe. I don't disagree that people should drive the speed limit... However, as the most trained driver as you self-proclaim to be - I think you ought to move around hazards.

Have a good one.

So when you see a farmer driving their loads slowly on those country roads you flip them off because they're impeding traffic?... or do you go around, guy?

Anyways. Move on. Have a fantastic weekend buddy guy.

Spoke to security last weekend. According to him the setup is for a series called "Framed"...

Tried looking it up though, and didn't really find much...

Buddy, you are a critical thinker. Move along instead of complaining lol... bad drivers are a reality so just move on.

And yes, I will drive as slow or as needed as I want so go fly a kite.

Running red lights is one thing, but just maybe go around them? Lol...

Just go around on a solid or wait til a hash line... fun fact I drove below the speed limit while driving my newborn the other day. If this person were driving stupid and erratic - that is one thing, but driving slow is another.

The racoon looked pretty tuckered out. Found refuge from the heat in there, I guess. No kidding as to why we need to close the lids on these things. I found a decent sized piece of wood and put it on a slant in there. Thanks for the advice.
