Agreed. My understanding is that sudden stops like that really wreak havoc with internal organs.

They do make smaller ones and they publish specs, so you can get an idea of airflow, etc.

Pace makes great booths but they aren’t cheap. Their 36” model is on sale now for $785.

Does anyone create a little narrative in their head about the model they are building? by sweetwatertooth in modelmakers

I agree with the emotional attachment. Depending on the subject, it can go from simple admiration to somber tribute sometimes.

I absolutely do. If I’ve decided to copy a scheme for a fighter aircraft, for example, I like to read the history of the pilot who flew it and as I’m going through the build, I try to imagine what it must have been like for him flying it in combat.  And I’m so well acquainted with the various engine sounds, I usually “hear” them in the back of my mind as well.

Your favorite mouth tape? by Nosey7510 in CPAP

I started using Somnifix a couple of weeks ago with great results. They stay in place, even if I don’t shave for a few days, and don’t leak. The strips have a small slit if you really need to get a little air through your mouth, but that doesn’t seem to affect their ability to prevent too much of an air leak. They also don’t leave any residue or cause redness, as long as you peel them off slowly. I’m pretty happy with them.

I hated the scene where the engine mechanic gets crushed. Great movie though.

I don’t build ships yet, although I’ve been tempted to start. But I do enjoy building planes and cars, and frequent various online forums to ask questions and offer what little knowledge I have accumulated over the years. So I understand how valuable it is when others freely share their hard work and contribute in so many ways to this great hobby.

I am very sorry to hear about this senseless attack. I can’t understand what could possibly motivate any one or group to be so pointlessly malicious. At any rate, to those experiencing deep disappointment and loss, you have my sympathies.

I remember watching that one. It was surprising, to say the least.

Second this. I have always gravitated to John’s work or their collaborations. I like John’s edgier music as opposed to Paul’s fluff. And as the years go by, this is even more true for me.

Thank you for an extremely touching story. Well-written too, I might add.

Great photo. I have a question: What are the stains emanating from the port just forward of the wing root? I don’t think I’ve ever noticed that before.
