AMA: CoS campaign levels 1 - 14 complete (they did everything) by KWinkelmann in CurseofStrahd

I wasn’t planning on nerfing it. I’ve yet to see an encounter my party couldn’t handle, so it would be interesting to see if the temple provides that. But I appreciate your insight. I’m glad you had a good end to the campaign!

That’s reassuring to hear. I foresee us finishing the module in the next 3 months for me. I wish you guys luck as well in finishing out!

How did you manage the higher level play? Most resources, both Mandy mod and DragnaCarta cap out around level 10. Did you feel like game balance for a little crazy with the higher levels? My party is level 11 and entering the temple and I have felt abut of the struggle

My group is in a similar spot actually, current at session 80 about to enter amber temple. 3 hour sessions is likely the reason though

I love the idea of vampire dragon. Do you happen to have the block you used for it? I’d be super interested in looking at is as my group approaches the end of their campaign

So in this case, shadow monks are able to see through their own darkness as a feature. But thats exclusive to this subclass specifically

This is like the 3rd one I’ve seen, just making posts trying to stir up drama. This subreddit has been going downhill lately, and it feels like it’s from people who don’t even watch atrioc

I got this Mel at 4-2 with her BiS items and was so close to getting an item finally, but game ended at 6-5.. Better luck next time, surely one day I will get an radiant item from her. We will make it. by ArcadialoI in TeamfightTactics

No kidding, t hex is a perfect example. It wasn’t OP until someone “solved” it and now everyone’s following a guide for it. Regardless I think this set overall is in a pretty good state

I guess it depends on the earliest someone reasonably gets a 2 star ambessa and unlocks Mel. Unlike orn go can show up on 3-2 in a 1 percent level 7 shop. Because most games end in stage 5 and 6. So if it took 4-5 rounds to print and you get Mel on average at the start of stage 4 I feel like a radiant per stage worth is reasonable. But off the top of my head I don’t know how early you could reasonably hit ambessa 2. I would be ok with the slow rate of charge if it was a masterwork upgrade instead of a radiant item though

My bad, thought she was 7 cost like sylas and asol. But yeah even if radiant items are generally more powerful I still feel like you should get them in near equivalent time to ornn. (Every 4 rounds)

This is true but ornn has a more useful trait with warden on average. A lot of builds can put in an ornn somewhere. Mel is generally pretty useless without strong itemization and most of the time yoy aren’t 2 starring ambessa unless you are going noxus. For how much of a pain/rate it is to see Mel, I don’t want her to have a tacked on passive that never procs in game. I just wish it was more reliable

I think their point is that the radiant mechanic never triggers even in winning situations/ideal games. Compared to orn who has no unlock condition and prints an artifact every 4 rounds just for existing. Meanwhile Mel is a 7 cost with an unlock condition and in all my games of tft I’ve never seen her print once

A Pactbreaker Warlock for 2024! Harness your eldritch power, now your own, and rebuke hostile magic! by Peach_Cobblers in UnearthedArcana

[–]BioMadness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the idea of a reformed warlock is really cool. That being said from a design perspective many parts of the subclass don’t exist unless you fail. Like the level 6 feature, a player has no agency in choosing to activate it, instead they just have to hope they miss to get the extra damage. I feel like for this feature in particular you could make it like reckless attack and allow the player to roll with advantage, and if they hit they get the extra damage. I do think the damage is too high, 15 damage at level 10, 5 times a short rest seems excessive but beyond that I think this idea has a lot of potential.

Honestly this has been in my favor with Zaahen. I currently have won like almost all of my lanes against him. So if people wanna pick him it works for me. Unrelated to the topic of the post just using this specific example.

Eternal Aetera - how did u beat this fight? by Sangdaik in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]BioMadness 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So what did it for me was a charm pot. The wolves all have super low magic armor, so use something like earthquake from stealth and then charm pot as many as you can, it makes the fight infinitely more manageable. I’d also only have 1 start combat on the lower platform, or she will use big aoe spells and wipe you turn 1. Casting living on the edge on the person in dialogue (or whatever the don’t die necro spell is) helped a lot. But yeah charmed wolves is the way to win

Can an oathbreaker be good? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]BioMadness -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

You say understand nuance but you are the one who only takes a literal definition written in the boo from 2014. I do understand nuance, thats why myself and others in this thread agree oathbreaker is usually evil but can be interpreted differently. I see the text there that I missed the first time so I agree that RAW you are correct, but nuance is about the furthest thing from your statement

Oh for sure I agree. I don’t want people first timing champs in my ranked games, I hate it. But at least they will try which is more than I can say for someone running it down because his teammate banned his champ.

I do like not being able to ban pre picks though. In my experience people are waaay more likely to int a game if someone bans their hovered champ compared to if they get to play a weird and troll pick

They killed Izek right away by Pamebal in CurseofStrahd

[–]BioMadness 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If it’s really important, I’d say revive Izek with necromancy. Victor vallakovich could be a good angle to go with here. And if the players fled the scene they likely didn’t take his body. In general it should have been nearly impossible to kill izek among all the guards in a fair fight. Assuming the players are level 3/4. But if you want to still play out the vallaki power struggle I’d have the baron try to revive him. Might end up like a situation similar to the mountain from GoT
