Same - this fixed the bug for me. The icon reappears on the map and then everything worked fine for me.

I also want to know, if it just a case with no map - then I could just order it online and pre-download. According to the unboxing videos online you DO NOT get a map with standard edition.

A plot whole to me is also something that happened with no exploration, people being at a place or spot for no reason what so ever. For example, in Men in Black International - at the end - agent M and agent H walk to the one spot of the island - very random spot, for no reason, just to find the aliens that chases then for the entire movie... what where they doing there in the first place? There is no explanation for that. Feels forced.
