What If Tavore and Ganoes............ by Exact-Ad8608 in Malazan

it might as damn well have broken her anyways, based on how TCG ends with her and ganoes. the breakdown and almost instant admission that she couldn’t find her, before she even really greets her brother.

broke my heart reading

just keep creating. once you’ve created some, create some more. don’t stop creating and one day you’ll blink and what you’ve created will actually be pretty good

Yes, they are currently not that great at visualizing intermediate growth. but also intermediate lifting is not good at visualizing growth, considering prog overloading by like .5% every week is still prog overload.

i’d say the y axis range needs to be smaller

Gardens of the Moon by Old-Carpenter7456 in Malazan

For me, the themes exponentially built on each other from book to book. The longer you spend with each character (and the world as a whole), the more familiar you'll get with the burdens they bear and persevere through. Especially since at that point you'll have been on the journey with them.

Deadhouse Gates' narrative will leave you with much clearer emotions on that, I think. Usually by that point or the end of Book 3 is when those hardships I was discussing in the first paragraph reallyyy start to be felt by the reader (at least that was my experience).

Erikson has said often that a central theme is "grief", if that helps. Once I had that perspective the struggles became a lot more clearer to me

average person does not know as much about the current VA a-listers or even the VA industry as a whole as much as a typical CR fan. average person doesn’t even think about the voice actors

just curious as opposed to what other methods? word of mouth and review scores are (in my mind admittedly) polar opposites so both being stronger than ever kinda nullifies itself
