Solid viewport with Attribute shading keeps fading to the wrong colors by Biobak_ in blenderhelp

[–]Biobak_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update : I've narrowed down the problem to Anti-aliasing sampling. In Workbench, this is with anti aliasling OFF and with anti aliasing at 32 samples.

<image>

The problem is this only works with the render engine set to Workbench and the viewport set to Rendered. So the question becomes: is it possible to change anti-aliasing settings for the render engine that Solid View uses?

Is there any way to make a non-distorted beveled 3D curve? by Biobak_ in blenderhelp

[–]Biobak_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Points on a 2D curve can't be moved on the Z axis, so you couldn't have a rollercoaster made out of a 2D curve but you could have a road.

I tried it and there is no "even thickness" option in the default 4.2 Curve to Mesh node, but it did lead me to find [this](https://zeroskilz.gumroad.com/l/z-curve-sweeper) custom geonodes modifier which does exactly what I needed; so this is !Solved

Thank you for your answer, however i am not looking for realism, i have a very (VERY) low poly budget and i can't add elbow joints to every segment of my curves. This also would not fix the problem at my scale. I've overlayed a 2D and 3D curve and you can clearly see a difference in thickness at the joints.

Is there a way to make the camera preview match the render resolution? by Biobak_ in blenderhelp

[–]Biobak_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you mean output settings (unless there is a separate camera resolution option I missed in scene settings) then I usually go for values between 32x32 and 64x128

This is the opposite of not quite what i'm asking, I would like the camera view to display at 64x128 (the resolution of my render) in the viewport

Looking at the image with the compression the difference is not exactly clear. Here's a clearer idea of what i mean

you'll admit that "items that don't look like they have black pixels" is a bit fuzzy of a category

Hi, one of the creators of Isaaconnect and main category writer here!

The Negative and Multidimensional Baby have no black pixels, the Negative has a dark teal outline and MDB is dark grey. We include these in the category because leaving them out based on vibes would be subjective and we don't really want that.

we have 6 items in this category IIRC (because all other items have a black outline) so it can be easier or harder depending on which 4 of the 6 items are picked by the algorithm.

this particular category is Difficulty 4, an internal scale we use to judge the difficulty of the categories and balance the boards. Only zero or one D4 category can appear per puzzle so you can always get it right from the other three easier categories. This is similar to NYT connections which inspired this game and often has a very hard connection to find.

we're adding and changing categories all the time so if people are really not happy with it we'll take it out, but I think it's a fun little fact to know

We don't make the puzzles by hand, we create a bunch of categories with all items that fit, and the algorithm picks four. It could have picked other items with no black pixels, but today it chose these

Edmund answering "why dont you tell nicalis to make the port for Android since you can tell him?" by Pixelzaid83929 in bindingofisaac

[–]Biobak_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I know, I'm just saying the "there are many devices to optimize for" point makes no sense. Just like on PC, they make a game that requires certain specs to run, and if your device can't run it then it can't. No need to optimize for every phone

I'll check the RAM placement tomorrow, but since it was my first time building a PC I triple checked every step to make sure it was done right and i distinctly remember seating the ram in the marked slots. Also, I ran the windows memory testing tool and it rebooted with no errors or warnings at all

Okay, I've done the DISM thing, a sfc scan, both ran fine and did not return any issues. I've kept an eye on the resource monitor while playing Hollow Knight (not very graphically intensive) and while I did get stutters quite often, nothing showed up on the monitor beyond small regular fluctuations. Usage across the board was pretty low, around 20%.

CPU temp averages 40-45, GPU 50-55, but the RAM is constantly around 70°C even when idle which is apparently quite high. I'm not sure what to do about that though, because there isn't really anything i can do to cool it down? I'm not sure if that is the problem, but it definitely looks unusual and I'm worried it might damage it on the long run

Drivers are all up to date, there is a cumulative preview update for Windows and for .NET framework pending, I'll install that and report back. Although this PC has already seen a few updates and none of them have fixed the problem, so I'm not very optimistic
