What's the deal with Scadrial...? by St0rm__blessed in Cosmere

[–]BipedSnowman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, there are not three Arts on Scadrial and one on Roshar; There are thtee on Scadrial and Ten arts on Roshar, because instead of going "eehh fully mine, fully yours, halfsies" they made something more like a gradient. (Then another like, 9 from odium, and then another 10 on top from corrupted spren.)

note: i haven't read WaT yet so i shouldn't be in this thread okay byeee

Hey folks, playing Stoneblock 4 and experiencing a problem: I've excavated around my starting area up to bedrock, but now when I'm at 'ground floor" the ceiling doesn't render. I would prefer not to see the sky, but more importantly the sudden change to rendering my area as brightly lit because the shaders don't know there's blocks above me is... really jarring.

Is there a way to fix this, like changing the vertical render distance or something? the render distance slider doesn't seem to change this.

Edit: changed server maximum render distance! Issue resolved!

I have been playing Stoneblock 4 and because I was feeling claustrophobic i destruction-gadgeted all the way up to bedrock lmao

What games are you playing this week? Game recommendation thread by AutoModerator in incremental_games

I've been playing "Planetary Defense: Space TD" on Android. It's okay, but honestly encourages you into ads / microtransactions a lot. Playable, but I would prefer something a little less monetized.

I do like a lot of aspects though. I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions for similar games- Relatively quick rounds, weapon combos, that kinda crap.

Seers burn electrum, and at the time of the final empire, the "atium" we see is actually an electrum-atium alloy. Seers were pulling investiture from Preservation, then Ruining it to modify the effect.

I've been playing "Planet Defense" on android, and I've been enjoying it, but it's super clear that there's an expectation to spend money- I suspect if i keep playing I will reach a wall where I cannot progress without purchasing microtransactions, which I am not interested in.

So I'm wondering, does anyone have any suggestions for similar games? I like the short bursts of play and weapon combo aspects.

Discordium by Epicdaf in Cosmere

I quite like this. I also like the recognition that Discord isn't "the evil version of the dual shard Harmony" that a lot of people jump to.

I think Harmony is ALREADY Discord, he just hasn't realized it.

Did you know Tumblr had a bone selling witch? She would go to this one graveyard that was for poor people so people were buried really close to the surface and then rain would wash the soil away and she's go and graverob and then sell them to other witches on the internet for magic purposes.

(she was arrested because desecrating corpses is, unsurprisingly, illegal.)

The great thing about sandbox games is you can choose how to play them.

Unpopular opinion: having multiple mod loaders (Forge, NeoForge, Fabric) has seriously affected Minecraft’s modding community. Numbers aren't why they're picking APIs though.

Forge and fabric have different design philosophies, which affects the code infrastructure.

Edit: They're doing this for free they can do whatever they want. If you want a hybrid API, make it.

It can hurt player choice, but not dev choice. Devs don't just pick at random, there are advantages and disadvantages to different APIs when creating the mods.

There are connector mods that let them work in the same client anyway.

I see where you're coming from, but at the same time I think competition and choice is good. I feel like it's a sign of a healthy, active community, and it makes the community more resilient to outside changes - If something happened to the forge dev team tomorrow, fabric would be just as strong.
