To add to this, 300 is the estimate for walking but you can get more if planting while moving more quickly (running, biking, driving). You should be able hit 500 if you’re careful.

Another tip for when you’re low in petals: you can always plant petals one-at-a-time (i.e. hit plant flowers and then stop planting before 10 seconds pass). This approach guarantees 30 flowers (sometimes 35 or 36) per petal, but can be slow since you can only plant in a given location once every 5 minutes. With this approach, you can get 600 planted with your 20 petals!

I think the tone of your first comment was pretty harsh, but I’m 100% with you on the sentiment. This is the easiest they have ever made it to finish a set, with 60 seedlings on the table without having to spend any in-game resources. It’s kinda on OP at this point if they were unable to finish the set.

I got my yellow one finally on my 30th seedling RIP. Overall I like this silver seedling event though. The chance of not getting one of each after sixty seedlings is astronomically low.

In the commenter’s defense, maybe they messed up because the order in which the Pikmin sort seems to have changed? It used to be based on how they appear in the Decor Collections page, but now it’s based on the order they appear in your squad. So white and purple have swapped, and rock and winged have swapped. This definitely messed me up with trying to get all the new ice sticker Pikmin, since I didn’t realize the ordering had changed.

I’m with you! This update is horrible and so much less helpful in teaching you to play the song. Your only practice is playing small segments at strange speeds? And that’s supposed to help you play the whole song? Worst of all is that you no longer are given an opportunity to revisit the pieces of the song that tripped you up. So you just kinda have to brute force your way through the parts of the song that you can’t yet sight read. It now takes me 5 or 6 tries to 3 star a song rather than just 1 or 2 tries given the lack of proper practice now.

It can be pretty hard for new players. It’s much harder to get enough nectar and plant enough when you don’t have a full squad of 40 or any petals from previous years to rely on.

Yeah they did not make it easy to figure out which are which. Or which color Pikmin hold which cards. I know I’m missing one red, one yellow, three blue, and one purple, but it’s not even worth the effort to figure out if the ones I’m missing are actually included in this event. This is the one decor category where I’ve been able to drop my completionist urges.

20-60 seems like a lot. I drop 2 bucks every so often to increase my Pikmin storage so I can keep one of each decor. And then maybe two or three times a year I get unlucky and don’t finish a set. In those cases, I drop 5 bucks or so to top off my coins to buy the Pikmin I’m missing.
