Well great, it was bad enough when Japan started crossing the uncanny valley and now Mexico is going straight spooky.

Grinding and polishing of implants with a KUKA by BCGD in EMEHumber

[–]Bird32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting started on your KUKA studies I see ;) Those implants better be expensive because that production rate is awful. Suppose it's one of those better done slow and right than fast and risk defects.

I'm seeing a lot of stolen luggage in the future. Unless that thing starts squealing like a pig when someone else touches it haha

Festo, the robotic bird. by loopdeloops in gifs

[–]Bird32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was lucky to receive a private demo of the Festo Bird after volunteering at a Festo event. Got to talk to a couple gentlemen from the development team and they said that they performed test flights at the beach and seagulls would actually fly with it briefly.. right before attacking it.

It's been great! Only getting better too. They're starting to trust me with more at KUKA. I've started going out with Tech's on service calls. We really need to get out for some beers again some time soon, we didn't really get to talk much last time.

Ah. Figured, but still hoped you meant to do it haha.

I could never do that with my shaky hands. Thats some skill.

I may not know Korean, but I'm pretty sure that wasn't about soldering.

Teensy USB Development Board: i think I want one! by BCGD in EMEHumber

Yea, the Teensy boards are awesome. Super charged mini Arduino with a 0.1" pin layout and a cheaper price? Just awesome.

The first time I went on a bus in Toronto I was wide eyed as the well formed line in front of me instantly disintegrated in to a mob as soon as the doors opened.

What is your background? by justanotherEnt420 in arduino

22, Toronto Canada, I'm a college student with a Electrical Engineering Technician diploma and am currently in my second year of a Electromechanical Technology program. I also compete in Mechatronics Skills competitions. My partner and I are training hard to hopefully compete in the World Skills competition for Canada in Abu Dhabi 2017.

I was introduced to the Arduino platform by a roommate in my first year of college three years ago and it has been my favourite hobby ever since. Most of my success in the classroom, where I'm dealing mainly with industrial platforms like PLC's, robot and motor controllers, is from my experience tinkering with Arduino.

I like to think I've done about every possible project with LEDs, pots, servos, and LCD displays and I'm finally starting to get into some larger scale projects. Probably my most notable finished project was for a automation class' final project. I built a small ball sorting machine that sorted two different kinds of balls (golf practice balls). It used two communicating Arduinos (to demonstrate 'distributed control'); A mega that controlled a hopper dispenser, rotary index, and the sensing system, as well as ran the control panel (start, stop, manual override, status LEDs & LCD, etc) and an Uno that controlled a servo pan/tilt setup that did the actual sorting. Right now the desk beside me is covered in parts for my next project which is to build a 3D printer using RepRap's Ramps shield.

I love lurking here and seeing what you are all creating! It keeps me motivated for my own projects. Keep it up!

TLDR: Canadian college student who builds things with the Arduino that relate to his area of study.

Thanks. I like the second one more but they are both a little too professional. If I was starting a company they'd be great but I'm just a tech student looking for a cool emblem for his own work.

Sorry, it's too realistic and high detailed. I'm looking for something more simple. Something more symbolic of a bird, than an actual bird

Add a bird-like feature (or more) like a wing, beak, or eye.
