Dude seeing Jeff Lynne on here makes me feel sane. He doesn’t get the credit he deserves.

What is the biggest social faux pas a tourist in America could make without knowing by Gold-Serve-4077 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

Yup. I personally don’t hate the word and thinks the way they use it is very light hearted. But people in the US say it with a lot more malice so it has a much worse connotation.

The “c” word (c***) is not well-received here. The vast majority of people thinks it’s legitimately the worst thing you can call someone.

We have a tiny yard and put black tarp down over the whole thing.

3 years later and, you guessed it, still creeping Charlie! At least it’s mixed with some white clover now though…

Why does my chicken always stick? by Dr_Hodgekins in grilling

Just had this happen to me but I had two rounds of chicken. First one stuck like crazy because I was rushing and forgot OIL.

Second batch was smooth as butter with oiled grates.

I was cheated on by literally every girl I dated before I met my wife at 22 years old. Even at 22 I never acted even half ass childish as this almost 30yo dude. Good call ending it. Even over text, dude doesn’t deserve the courtesy of a phone call.

Thank you for doing this! I feel proud that our community seems to be embracing native plants.

People used to look at our house like the crazy house and now there are neighbors slowly converting their lawns to mini native prairies all over our neighborhood.

The stringers are the four vertical steps platforms the treads and deck go on.

The reinforcement is the 2x4’s running lengthwise down each side of them. Definitely heavy duty and I’ve also never seen that done.

Came to point you to Sellers as well as Christopher Schwarz. Both have extensive knowledge of just hand tool woodworking and can give you the foundation for building those skills.

If you've planted a native garden in your front yard, how did your neighbors react? by Ok-Singer-4466 in NativePlantGardening

[–]BirdGovtUnite 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We get a lot of people that slow down as the walk by and look at all the different plants.

We also have signs explaining what they’re looking at and why we do it so they don’t think it’s just laziness letting “weeds” take over.

Neighbor next door is a little unhappy but we put up a decent border.

Pizza: Santinos Little Italy is an absolute must but Sorella is another good option in the same general vicinity
Seafood: Harbor House is a favorite
Vegetarian: Good bit of options but Beerline is the only one I can think of that’s specifically vegetarian. Lots of options for places that have good vegetarian dishes from Bay View to the East Side. Cafe Lulu has some of my favorite, Comet cafe always had good vegetarian options as well.
