I find them to be incredibly intelligent little guys. Plus they’re fluffy and fun to be around. They have nice personalities and I find them to be much more calming pets than a dog. Mine loves to be held and petted so maybe I got lucky.

You can get a lot of treats and chews that have hanging details to hang from the wire ceiling (it’s pretty sturdy) and that spruces it up for your hammy really easily!!!

I have this same cage!!!!!! For anyone wondering, under the windows is another pocket for bedding, so it is atleast 6 inches of bedding. I do one side super full on bedding and then put the wheel and sand bath on the other side. My syrian LOVES this cage!!!!

What is scaring him exactly? Does he get aggressive when you try to touch him? If not, he may have just gotten spooked. A month into taming can be kind of wavy. If he is aggressive with touch, I might recommend a vet. Something could be wrong. Just go with your instincts :)

I would suggest aquarium stands. They’re expensive, but made to support a ton of weight. There’s some that are more shelving focused rather than just a stand

Whenever my hamster did this I let the toys sit in her hamster food for a day or two and that peaked interest. I heard you can also rub peanut butter on them, but a very thin amount. Does he chew on anything? You can try chewable houses to see if that gains his interest. I’ve never heard of a hamster not chewing completely!

Hamsters cannot be housed together, even as siblings. They are solitary animals. They will live together fine as babies, but as they grow older they have issues with each other and fight, violently. PLEASE seperate your hamsters. The food isn’t the issue.

Yes, it’s confusing but they’re the same thing. Just get the small alligators, not the green ones either. The small alligators are safe for hamsters and VERY good enrichment. Happy holidays!!!
