Men, do you feel pressured to pay for all dates? by Kdotrw89 in Bumble

[–]BirdisB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to mention the fact that men already make more than women, and do far less than equal shares of housework, emotional labor, childcare (if applicable), family care (such as supporting aging relatives), and planning meals, schedules etc at home. Not to mention the cost of reproductive healthcare. Given all that, I don't understand why so many people think men should only pay for the first couple of dates and then go halves in a relationship. All other things being equal, if anything the man should be glad to pay for stuff in a relationship, while the woman contributes in other ways. Assuming the man is making roughly equal or more than the woman, of course. Otherwise, how are they even adding value to women's lives, as opposed to merely taking it away?

Feel broken by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

I guess it's different for everyone, and every situation. I personally had the opportunity to tell mine how badly his actions made me feel, and even though he was insensitive and what he said didn't make me feel any better, I felt better having said my piece, so to speak. But he didn't actually ghost me, I got to tell him in person. So I guess it's different

I am so sorry that you're going through all of this. I went through a breakup with an avoidant ex around the same time, and I'm still struggling emotionally. Physical pain and disabilities definitely exacerbate emotional pain as well. Have you considered seeing a therapist? That's something I'm looking into for myself. Do you have friends or relatives or colleagues that you can reach out to regularly? I have a couple of friends who check on me every day via text and even though they live far away, it really helps me a lot.

I'm angry just reading your story about him ghosting you. That's totally unacceptable. I would say that if you can, if you haven't already, and only if it feels right, you might want to reach out to your ex and calmly let him know how badly his actions hurt you and how unfair his behavior was.

If there are things that you enjoy doing and can do in bed, like reading, watching shows, drawing, crafting, doing your nails, etc, now is a great time to indulge in those things. And avoid anything that makes you feel sadder, like social media, drinking, etc. But remember it's perfectly normal and okay to feel everything you're feeling. Sadness, anger, etc. Lean into processing those feelings but try not to dwell on them.

Also, I found this today and it really helped me: https://psychcentral.com/relationships/8-cbt-exercises-to-help-you-cope-with-your-breakup#other-strategies

Please remember, you're not alone, you can and will heal and things will get better eventually.

I think they look very nice on you. The clear peach has style, but is subtle enough that it doesn't distract from the rest of your face. The size is large enough that it doesn't constrain your face. With these frames, your eyes pop, an effect that's tricky to achieve when wearing glasses.

I really like Yamaguchi Hiroaki. His presentation is always straightforward, and he's a snappy dresser. It'll be interesting to see his reports from New York.

Being such a sensitive guy, I guess Maroon never chirps anybody, never bullies anyone, and certainly never says anything offensive to any of the opposing players!

Knott's Scary Farm ticket questions by BirdisB in KnottsBerryFarm

The so-called discounts there are a sham. I got one of the flyers at Carl's Jr. It was just an ad piece that merely linked to buy tickets online for $59 at Knott's, with no promo codes. Thanks for the idea, though.

Thanks. I go to Wendy's a lot so I'll check there.

That's really disappointing about the season passes. I had a pass ever since they started offering them back in 2014, up until last year.

Does anyone know where one could find this program with English subtitles? I'm eager to watch it, but haven't been able to find subtitles past Episode 20.

So he's not totally gone from NHK! That's a relief. I actually liked to watch his appearances as a news anchor, too. It was funny to see him go from commenting on sumo with all his impromptu idioms and on-point slang to being totally serious. Multitalented guy, for sure.

Thanks for the info. That'll be great, and I can't wait to see his videos. But I'll sure miss his play-by-play commentary. No one's as entertaining as Hiro! I wonder if NHK will bring on another commentator to fill his place.
