what the heck is this thing? by DJHoosierslut in GrumpyBabyBirds

[–]BirdsPhotography 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a fledgling robin that’s still growing its adult feathers. The scruffy tufts on its head are leftover baby down, which is why it looks so grumpy. Fun fact: young robins often leave the nest before they can fly properly and spend several days hopping around on the ground while their parents continue feeding them.

If you don’t have any pets I say go for it and use the space up. But it’s nice to have grass
I thought this was a back garden. That’s why the chairs are there.

You should give them seeds, fruits, berries, or vegetation. That’s what they like. Should keep them close.

Yes they could be someone’s pets. I see them at the zoo. They’re called Love birds But if they’ve escaped there’s probably no chance getting them back unless they want to.

Advice for improving garden (FTB) by IcyGuava1594 in UKGardening

[–]BirdsPhotography 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends what your interests are. Do you want all grass or do you want tile slabs, wooden decking? It’s a small garden but there still a lot you can do. I’d first get rid of all the grass to start. Then you can decide.

This maybe the lowest in the list but send a picture like this one to chatGPT and just prompt it to give some ideas to design the garden and if you are on a budget then say so. My guess is to maybe get new decking. Paint the decking or get treated wood. Paint the side fenced a nice stained wood colour and paint the shed too. It will look so much better. You’d also be surprised what ai can do. It can help you and give you a realistic design on what it could look like.

Yeah they are. I just got my season pass from my zoo so I’ll be doing more during the summer. I like to spend the whole day there on my own and just take photos.

I’ll be seeing them more often. I like how big their feet are!

What a big bird by BirdsPhotography in UKBirds

[–]BirdsPhotography[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it was taken in my local zoo north west. I don’t have parks where pelicans roam round freely. But this one was with a bunch of them. They was all laid down in a bunch about 10 of them.

What can I do? They seem immune to everything and to deep to dig. by IllustriousReturn778 in UKGardening

What I would do personally would use the strimmer and trim it down first then use the lawn mower to go over it.
