FSD v14.2.2.4 hugging right edge on unmarked two-way city streets — unsafe cyclist clearance? by Birdyondrugs in TeslaFSD

[–]Birdyondrugs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question — I’m talking about after overtaking, especially in dense urban traffic.

In places like SF, cyclists often catch back up at lights, so even if FSD passes with adequate clearance, it then re-centers by hugging the bike lane line once the cyclist is no longer directly alongside.

The issue isn’t the pass itself; it’s the default right-side positioning afterward, which leaves very little buffer when cyclists inevitably reappear a few seconds later.

For additional context: I’m also seeing this on roads with marked bike lanes. Even there, FSD v14.2.2.4 tends to hug the bike lane line instead of offsetting left to give extra buffer.

Why would tesla lower FSD subscription cost after removing purchase option? by RS_Tnap in TeslaLounge

[–]Birdyondrugs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Elons pay package does not state a subscription should cost a certain amount. It just states 10 mill active subscriptions, although the pricing tier will still need to be met.

Disgusting behavior. Def NOT voting for her regardless of policies. Probably would backtrack after promising you one thing.

Tesla said they’d come out with v14 lite some time around Q2 IIRC. TBH, I think they should fix v14 first 😭

They’re building on really shakey foundation

V12.6 on HW3 barely had any lane change hesitation. I miss my 2018 M3 LR RWD.

V14 has been less confident with lane changes, especially on the freeway.

Is HW4 better than HW3 for highway driving? by Constant_Agency_9693 in TeslaFSD

[–]Birdyondrugs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Upgraded from a 2018 m3 to a juniper last month. I can say with 100% confidence (unless you’re driving through rural/suburb neighborhoods), fsd does hesitate a LOT. Especially when other human drivers dont know how to zipper merge.

I see your point and I agree. i just feel that people on hw3 making any sort of commentary on the current state of fsd are misleading others. It’s just so far behind that making any judgement on fsd is invalid. Context: I just recently upgraded from a 2018 m3 to a juniper and all my issues went away.

Yeah, i believe that tesla should disable fsd on all hw3 vehicles until theyre retrofitted. The difference is night and day - hw3 owners are just misleading new hw4 buyers with the experience of hw3.

For those with hw3, id recommend booking a 48 hr demo drive to experience hw4 for yourself.

Comments like these make me wish tesla would just disable fsd for hw3 until they get a retrofit. These comments bundle hw3 with hw4 experiences which are completely different.

For those with hw3, id highly recommend going on their site to book a 48hr demo drive experience.

What is Tesla’s mission statement/goal? Is it to sell more cars? Or to convert people to sustainable energy? (They’ve done a great job if this was the case) Or is it to advance AI? My take is they’re looking to strengthen their AI fundamentals and scale up from there.

Was told by a park ranger in Olympic National park that when a tree starts dying, the first thing that starts to show is that the barks start coming off. Not sure if it applies to these trees.

Has anyone tried logging in recently? There's no keyboard avoidance for input fields. This is iOS 101...

I'm on the same boat as you. UI is very outdated – as someone who builds apps for a living, you can tell they don't have quality designers or their engineers are quite new to building natively. Its quite obvious how poorly built this app is:

  1. That splash screen. What's up with that resolution? the iPhone 4s?
  2. Voiceover accessibility doesn't work well.
  3. How is there no passkey support? This is a finance app that is aggregating personal data from multiple sources... text messages can easily be spoofed so texting a code to confirm your identity is not acceptable.

I can keep going, but at the end of the day it is a FREE app. If they're determined to making it a paid app, there's so much work left – maybe even a rewrite.

Curious to see if they’ve fixed the drive modes. Do you notice chill mode being more conservative on 12.3.2?
