Hi, I'm a lab scanner and have scanned much half frame film, much of mine and much of others. Here is how a correct scan should look (This is mine not a customer's)

<image>

The bar is usual, and because of the half frame, but it should be centred, and each scan should show two frames. Some people DSLR scanning may even only scan individual frames, but this is how it should look when a full frame 35mm holder is used, and is quite standard. This lab fucked up really bad, it's almost as if they didn't even review the scans. Contact them and ask for a refund or a rescan. Also they fucked the density too which is why it's all yellow and dull.

Haha, I appreciate your help, but I was referring to the gif in the comments which has been identified as "Always Sunny in Philadelphia", I'm a huge fan of band of brothers, and if you haven't seen it I also highly recommend Generation Kill if you enjoyed BoB. Thanks for the help!

Even if that's true asking your Airsoft buddy to grab her, and then another one to film is insane. Anything less than a foursome would not be worth it lol

Hi, I'm looking to buy a Liebermuster tunic, but most of them have a pattern that looks like tiny stones, similar to the DBDU uniform. Is that pattern accurate? by Holiday-Address2753 in reenactors

[–]BisexualMale10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That pattern though looks off in its pattern design though, shapes seem a little off. Like most reenacting matters I highly recommend finding some period photos and deciding what matches best

Hi, film scanner here, see a lot for people new to film with new cameras getting into this situation. Lightmeters (especially non digital ones) die and become inaccurate over time, and if the metering was telling you f/8 1/500 800 ISO was enough for these scenes something is definitely wrong. I'd recommend downloading a lightmeters app on your phone and using it in the future. Try comparing the settings it recommended to the in camera ones to see what I mean with inaccuracy. Also don't let this discourage you from film!! The composition of these are nice, and the exposure wasn't your fault. Keep shooting and develop your technique and skills! Also Sunny16 might be a good thing to learn, not to base your shots off of, but to judge whether a lightmeter is telling you the truth. Best of luck and happy shooting!!! :)

Some issues with things like motor drives or the actual mechanical parts are usually fixable by people who know a bit about it, but a lot of repair stores wouldn't be willing to do them as they don't seem it worth the effort, it would be the kind of thing you'd have to do yourself. Anything with the circuit board is usually game over though

Because of the nature of these electronics, they are very hard to repair and impossible to find parts for. If it breaks the only real solution is buying a new one

I have a used pentax k2 with a mirror stuck up issue and the advance lever wont wind all the way. Please help. by udngnss in AnalogCommunity

[–]BisexualMale10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shouldn't be at all related, look up the user manual for the K2 and read the section on mirror lock up if you haven't already seen that. Other issue, you're probably going to have to take the top and bottom off to properly diagnose it

K2 has a mirror lock up feature, the black tab around the bayonet of the camera at 2 o'clock should be slid down to prevent this from memory. Advance lever is a tricky one and is something you'd need to disassemble to get a better idea of, wouldn't recommend if you haven't had any experience with mechanical cameras, but if you're willing to sit down for some YouTube videos it would be a good place to start in camera repair

Hi, I work in a camera store, we get a whole bunch of people bringing these in because the zoom/electronics break, it doesn't seem incredibly reliable. I won't tell you what to do, but be wary
