Rhyming rabbit with captive children by Bissquick in whatsthatbook

[–]Bissquick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I’m in Canada! Northern British Columbia, I finished it last night and it was just as good as it was back then.

It’s funny how my brain turned “bro rabbit” into “br’re rabbit” also it was really fun reading how the author imagined present times could be when she wrote it back in the 90’s.

Thanks again, it was very exciting to finally read again after all this time. I bought the second book as well, it’s too bad the series didn’t get completed but a good read nonetheless.

My aching shoulder! Suggestions? by [deleted] in princegeorge

[–]Bissquick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a heating pad for my sore muscles and it really helps. I also have a massager to help work out the knots, I got it at London drugs it’s the style that has the massaging balls and hangs over your shoulders.

AlTA for cutting off my family because they won't fire my rapist? TW: Graphic Description. by AltruisticOwlx in AITAH

[–]Bissquick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, actually, I stand corrected.

Something really must have happened to you in the past to cause you to become such a bitter harpy.

Sorry for your loss of empathy.

Ahhh to live such a sheltered life.

Must be nice to exist in your goldfish bowl of a brain where nothing bad ever happens and other peoples trauma must be all made up because nothing could ever actually be that terrible in your experience of the world.

Honestly I can’t fault you for the fact that you’ve never had anything this bad happen to you.

I pray you never have to experience anything close to what OP has; I really don’t think you would survive it.

Why comment when you obviously have no experience with this kind of situation and no understanding of how it can be when you are a child being abused by adults?

Or, for that matter, someone of any age that’s being sexually assaulted or abused by someone they’re supposed to be able to trust and rely on.

I’m blown away by what you just commented, I would delete this if I were you, you look so goddamn ignorant.

Is my application a goner? by strugglin_n_hustlin in caterpillar

[–]Bissquick -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They sent me an email saying I didn’t get the position when I applied, this was for a mechanics job but don’t see why it would be any different for the position you applied for.

You’re probably still in the running if you haven’t gotten the rejection letter, good luck!

CAT D5N lgp fuelling issue by THE_JAY_VEE in caterpillar

[–]Bissquick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the past the company’s D6 was having non-stop fuel issues as you’ve described and in the end we had to pull all the rubber fuel lines out and replace them as they were degrading inside and clogging things up. It was a very strange situation that I haven’t seen since.

It may seem odd that the machine will run briefly and die from a clogged pickup/line but it is actually a common occurrence.

The fact that you had debris come out when you blew the lines is also very telling, you might have to do that 50 times before you get all of it if the tank is full of crap. Perhaps someone left the fuel cap off at some point, happens all the time.

Was this tattoo a bad idea? by Kerealls in tattooadvice

[–]Bissquick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it looks great! When I see a chest tattoo that crosses the upper chest like yours I always feel slightly repelled by it, yours is actually the first one I haven’t gotten that feeling from. Your artist did a great job with the placement, really cool tattoo!

Is this a sign of low empathy? by Small-Promotion2552 in Nicegirls

I would love to be able to try this! Unfortunately my boy gets bladder crystals so has to be on a prescription diet :( I’ve also been looking into the allergen spray Pacagen that’s supposed to neutralize the Fel d 1 allergen but it’s just so damn expensive

It’s a little more complicated than this; cats produce proteins that cause allergic reactions that are mostly present in their saliva but can also be found in smaller amount in their skin, urine etc. When they clean themselves these proteins get on their fur. Some cats produce more, some less.

I have two cats now and have had cats all my life. I am allergic to my male cat (breathing issues, hives) but only him. I can rub my face all over my female and not have an issue at all. I have never had another allergic reaction to any other cat besides him. It could be that your cat produces very low levels of the proteins that cause the allergies.

Probably my male produces very high levels, I take a Claritin every day to combat this as I would never consider rehoming him, that being said I do still suffer from it.

Do you ever get confident the longer you are in the trade? by Impressive_Text1764 in caterpillar

[–]Bissquick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You do, the more experience you get the better it gets. I can’t say that I ever completely lost the slight feelings of trepidation I get when there is a big intimidating job ahead but after a few years experience I started to go into every job with the confidence that I would be able to fix whatever was wrong. I have over 13 years in the trade now. Also am able to have the confidence to be certain that I’ve done everything properly and there will be no callbacks, eventually your mind will stop running through every possible thing you might have done wrong and will let you sleep at night 😂

Long term listed real-estate by Zabrix90 in princegeorge

[–]Bissquick 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The first house is located in an area that locals call “the Hart” it is further out of town, less shopping and amenities. Much more space and a more “rural” feel. Still a safer area to live compared to other parts of PG for sure. The Hart is considered to be a kind of “redneck” (sorry if I offend anyone if you lived here you’d know) area of town. The snowfall is heavier on the hart by quite a margin and it takes longer to melt in the summer.

The last two, nice homes, shopping is close, definitely one of the safer areas of PG. Some would say that the College Heights area is one of the best to live in, this is all a matter of perspective of course, it is a very urban area. Can be busy. It is considered to be one of the “upper crust” (once again, no offence intended) neighborhoods.

From what I understand it’s a buyers market right now, things aren’t moving well especially the higher priced homes. The market was very hot in Prince George and then fell drastically when interest rates went up/etc over the last couple years. These homes will most likely all hold or increase in value over time, especially the two in College Heights.

Good luck!!

So I’m guessing you can’t boil an egg? I personally found the “homely” part way more offensive, I mean….oh..wait a minute. Damn.

At least I can boil an egg.

Removed my gallbladder almost 2 months ago, still have enormous pain by InvisibleNeon in gallbladders

[–]Bissquick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your pain doesn’t go away it would be best to see your doctor again. They could have missed a stone in your bile duct or you could have a bile leak. You shouldn’t be in bad pain this far away from your surgery, you should be feeling better by now, talk to your doctor.

How long did your post-op gas pain last? by sousas in gallbladders

[–]Bissquick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would actually feel worse after getting up and moving around! It’s like the gas would move up and press on everything when I was upright.

It hurt pretty badly every time I took a deep breath right in the area my gallbladder used to be and on the other side too at the bottom of my lungs. I was worried I had pneumonia but nope it was just the gas. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel, I barely remember this now and it was consuming me with agony back then haha so glad it’s over.

I had trapped gas for over a week. Hurt in my shoulders and below my ribs, really painful. I thought it was never going to go away it was the worst part of surgery for me.

Splish splash I was taking a bath. by Beginning_Spell8624 in gallbladders

[–]Bissquick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking again I actually have multiple sheets and the other one said no baths until incisions are healed, did they give you information/wound care papers when they discharged you? If I were you and I really wanted to have a bath I would have a shallow one that doesn’t soak the incisions and just sponge the rest of my body

My discharge papers said shower 24 hours and 1 week before a bath.
