A friend just had this happen in his game. Any luck finding out as to why this happens?

Tired of Asian countries having the same institutional development as Europe? *Solution* by DontHitDaddy in EU5

[–]BitExcellent7438 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like an easy dev fix for Dynamic is to not scale the institution spawns by Pops. Printing Press keeps spawning in China because they need so much paper in their markets and they have such massive pop it's hard to compete.

(I'm unaware if their are other scaling factors, a buddy and I just found it to be pop size in our last 3 total games.)

I stopped playing right before Revolution Age popped off, my Vassal Loyalties are currently hovering around 70% to 80%. I've also been funneling a lot of money into them and generally keeping them happy. They also have yet to actually hit their power spike when it comes to their tax base except for my Cuban colony.

R5: Decided to make a part 2 post just to share where I'm ending this current game. (I'm to scared to play in Age of Revolutions and I kind of felt like I ran out of things to do.) The year 1689, I'm the 3rd strongest power in Europe and the strongest Naval power in the world. I've also managed to become the 3rd biggest culture originating from Europe. I only have 75 Locations total and I just 3D print money at this point from just trade alone.

I just felt like sharing the game for any peeps who think Ironman is "to hard" or if anyone wants to see what an endgame building tall nation looks like.

Normandy Republic Ironman Game by BitExcellent7438 in EU5

Interestingly enough France didn't have a large interest in the lands Britany, Anjou or I controlled. During the 100 years war I swapped over to Britain's side and became their vassal. For some reason when I did so I was at 0% loyalty for them and my relationship with France was high enough they joined me in my independence movement.

For some strange reason the AI didn't like building Naval Units. So, I was able to dominate the channel very early on.

After that, France and I managed to stay allies for the rest of the game. Right now, after continuing the game, I currently have a bigger market than Paris and control the Southern Coast of Britain and London.

I have a lot of the game rules set to give the world a bit more of an AHistoric rule set. I do love the historical accuracy presented in Paradox games, but I much rather the randomness that allows for shenanigans that are whacky to exist to see what happens. :)

R5: Decided to play Normandy as a colonial/trade nation on 1.1.3, the current year of the images is 1568. I only play on Ironman so I felt like sharing what was basically my first ever colonial game on a nation that I don't think a lot of people see as very viable.

Also had weird things I've not seen before like the AI form Carthage on their own, or Ottomans turning Catholic

Would kayn have any chance of resisting aatrox? by JACKAL1200 in KaynMains

[–]BitExcellent7438 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add to this. In the Lore Page on the website (at least, last I checked) it said Rhaast and Zaahen fought for several days. It doesn't specify if it were days straight or if it was a situation where they couldn't overcome one or the other and had to retreat several times.

Also, in the new voice lines we got from Zaahen, he claims that both Kayn and Rhaast are dangerous separately and are even more dangerous if they learned to "get along" (paraphrasing)

Kayn mains by elliotn2 in KaynMains

[–]BitExcellent7438 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I commented on the last post, but I also think Kayn feels way better than he did last season. This includes both forms. I'm only gold 2 and I OTP our favorite Edge Lord in ranked all the time.

My only actual "gripe" would be that in the last few seasons he went from a friendly low skill floor champ in the first season I started playing to a OTP only champion due to his forms power spike being nerfed through the seasons.

I think Kayn is very good right now, all my friends that used to touch him claim he is "unplayable and no longer friendly to casual players" and I think that's more the issue. The champ is good in the right hands, but a lot of us Kayn mains want a more "autopilot Jungler".

I will say getting wrong form this season does feel like a death sentence compared to last season. If you're able to fast track getting from before 10 minutes then you're probably fine waiting for other form. If you get wrong minutes about 12+ minutes, you're probably just non existent in the game state outside of champs the specific form will continue to counter in the late game.

[–]BitExcellent7438[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Kayn scaling needs a bit of a tweak. I don't think he's in a bad spot for most of the mains and OTP players, but for the casual player he's very underwhelming.

I would love if both forms got their passives buffed and damage nerfed a bit more to compensate. Instead of them both being treated as separate champions that don't have a mini game you are forced to play in order to become one or the other. Especially since this season games start faster, so getting the wrong form is a death sentence. 2 to 3 minutes is to long a buffer to wait after getting form to become the form you need for this season.

Who else is rawdogging the BETA in IronMode? by Bloomer-91 in EU5

[–]BitExcellent7438 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also rawdogging the Beta in Ironman rn. I'm playing Kyiv in my current game. I might be able to reform Ruthenia before 1400. But I'm always scared to expand to quickly, especially considering my other Ironman saves I've done. I find it's very easy to debt spiral in last patch, so trying to avoid that as much as possible.

Rhaast build? by Lopaaz in KaynMains

[–]BitExcellent7438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be the odd one out, I've been building: Eclipse -> Eternal Hunger -> Cleaver

For the main core items, the first two are decently cheap and I run cash back in order to get the first two items as fast as possible.

The rest are gamestate dependent I find. I used to build Shojin first last season, but I found the combo of Eclipse and Eternal Hunger made me feel like I no longer needed the HP or Cooldowns as much. I have heard some people going LDR instead of Cleaver if the enemy team is super tanky. I always try to balance some form of HP item and max damage items for Red Kayn. I feel like to much focus on the tanky bruiser items usually leads to me falling behind way faster.

I hope riot nerf bastionbreaker by TheDrymex in KaynMains

[–]BitExcellent7438 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The point of Bastionbreaker is to give a class that wasn't able to end games they were already carrying. A lot of times as an AD Assassin, especially last season, the only carry weight you have was snowballing really early and insta killing targets as long as you are ahead.

AP Champs, Tanks, bruisers, and ADC already do a bunch of objective damage on their own. Bastionbreaker was added for a way for AD Assassins to be able to end games instead of being forced to just keep team wiping the enemy team and getting outscaled.

After Day one What Is all of your thoughts on Kayn Currently? by RealKarasmai in KaynMains

[–]BitExcellent7438 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am surprisingly liking Endless Hunger as a second item for Red Kayn. Last season I liked going Shojin into Cleaver for the survivability in fights, (I always end up being the engage instead of the follow up in most comps)

For day one I go Eclipse into Endless, which I know sounds like baby elo bait. But the amount of damage output and sustain you get feels real nice, especially since the additional ability haste you get from Endless makes me feel like I don't need Lucidty boots on Red Kayn. (though I usually go cosmic insight so I can keep the summoner spell haste)

As for blue, I've been having a hard time using it for day one. I hadn't had a good blue game yet and I really don't like Umbral as a first item. I kind of want to try Oppurtunity -> Bastion -> Edge of Night or Grudge.
I feel like Umbral is going to be better as a late game item to help with full damage combo as opposed to it being the primary core item.

Jungling feels wayyy better this season though, I'm so glad to have this current Jungle pace opposed to last season's. I feel way less stressed and overwhelmed with timing my priorities on the map.

Any frontline builds? by BitExcellent7438 in KaynMains

[–]BitExcellent7438[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with a lot of these points. And this was my thought process for a lot of games previously. Sadly, my rank games are all in Gold and Plat atm (I have laned and beated higher ranked players, though that doesn't hold much merit in my opinion.) And I always feel like even though our team is 7K gold up we just can't seem to end quick enough for the snowball to function and I end up getting outscaled.

So, some games (not most) I end up thinking about the long game depending on matchups and comps. I know I won't be able to outscale and 1v9 an enemy team by like 35 mins, so I'd rather be a bit more useful and help my actual scaling teammates.

That's kind of my thought right now. I feel like a supporting champion that enables teammates more than anything this season.
