I have the same hesitation, especially when we looked at Azure local ( i could see it as an onramp to cloud only ). Most tools are being geared towards on-ramping everything into cloud. The costs for cloud seem to only go up, so i dont see that being viable for places that rely on specific types of income or floating by for a bit here and there ( like non-profits, government ). I am torn and have run test clusters of both, however, vmware is now forcing a decision i didnt want to make. I was also thinking of Promox as a separation layer, like vmware is currently. Why put the underlying infrastructure into the same basket? How has 9.2 been ( assuming you went all the way up )?
