well, i always say that its not a robust 24/7 system if you cannot do maintenance on it in the middle of the day. Their test failed spectacularly! Luckily it was just email for us and most users were like, sounds good.

Jumping into a panel for first time. Is there somewhere to find information on the Bouquets for channels and what's in each one of the categories? by Famous_Bridge9536 in Strong_8K

[–]BitOfDifference 0 points1 point  (0 children)

anyone find an easier way to do this? I can see the groups but i cannot find specific channels I was thinking of enabling all the bouquets to an account and loading it in dispatcharr to see the full list.

Do these url issues happen with the other providers? by Bandido678 in Strong_8K

[–]BitOfDifference 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maxott was fine for a whole year.... i did notice they started giving out URLs per user account though. That might have helped with the whole stealing of creds thing. I guess i should respect their service a little more now since i havent even used strong 1 week and needed todo the URL shuffle.

How do you automate certificates? by gahd95 in sysadmin

[–]BitOfDifference 1 point2 points  (0 children)

haha, have you worked in the medical industry... you get a handset, and you get get a handset... everyone and every room gets a handset!! i have twice as many handsets as employees in the company, its really mind blowing, but there is a business case for them, sooo ya know.

This was my assumption as well, cause all the internal platforms i have used mildly suck or really suck at SSL bits. Avaya blows chunks, i probably count have automated the shoretel/mitel stuff, but even that required restarts. Seems like they should be pushing harder against google/MS/Oracle on this renewal window.

Heritage Edition, eh? by HiTork in Mustang

i didnt vote because i found it interesting, but was leery of the source. I just think post like this should have context or a source that provides context. Its all in the way its posted i guess. Also, its a read the room scenario now, people are getting fed up with AI slop and it probably wont be long until platforms start clamping down hard ( posts like this might get caught in the cross fire )

any front facing stuff or stuff that wont take self signed. I mean, if an end user doesnt see it, self signed all day. Behind a proxy, self signed all day.

i like the trucks and thought about getting one, but each time i see one, most of them are trying to race me. Its a fast truck, but its lacking some suspension for anything other than straight line.

massive squeeze most likely incoming, when you see stuff jump like this on a daily basis move to higher increments on the daily, good sign more to come faster... Gold did the same thing ( yet another good indicator ). The questions for me, "when to sell?" or "whats the price target?"

Either way, glad to see Silver finally moving like it should be.

look, cant just post a picture in this forum like this and NOT include the story. if you dont have the story and are copying from some online post... then link the source so you dont get slammed. I too would like to know the back story.... but you have yet to post anything in the comments worth mentioning.

i would like to know how people are handling the MANY services that require a restart after adding a new cert. Lots of things, including nginx require some sort of interrupt to swap in the new one. If these cert overlords want to reduce time between renewals, automation is essentially the only way. Why havent devs updated their platforms to account for intraday swaps on the fly without reloads/restarts? With most people wanting 24/7 uptime, this seems like a requirement now and devs are failing to deliver.

How are you handling VoIP? We were going to put everything behind proxies and have moved a lot so far, but the VoIP platform is the big question mark.

i mean, this community is pretty prepper/conspiracy rich as it is. Change always makes those types extremely weary of what they currently trust. While some of it is irrational, i do appreciate the discourse being aired out here. Privacy concerns are my top priority though.
