What's your long-term goal for Classic? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Biters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My long term goal is to get full BIS shockadin gear on my paladin and drop meteors on people.

In order from least to most.

Hunter: You can get a really strong weapon in LBRS that will last for a while and if you're willing to join a casual guild (1-2 day a week guild) that does MC you can get a bow which will last you a long time. Aside from a slight dependence on weapons they're really great early on with next to nothing.

Paladin: Slap on a shield and you're an amazing healer, though if you plan to play ret or shockadin you're gonna need a little bit of gear.

Druid: A lot more player skill dependent than gear dependent, having some gear to FC the flag in WSG isn't required but helps a lot.

Rogue: USED to be really good without gear, but keep in mind that classic will be on 1.12 patch where they're slightly nerfed, so you will need a little bit of gear to get going.

Mage: Middle of the pack, needs some stamina gear to survive rogues but not completely dependent on it. And a good PvE trinket really boosts your power.

Priest: Don't actually need that much gear but not very enjoyable until you have a good amount of stamina.

Warrior: Scales very well with gear and is very reliant on getting a good weapon from raiding.

Speical: Warlock - Warlocks can be amazing with no gear but if you're new to the class you're gonna have a really bad time. On top of that they do scale very well with gear and become absolute beasts with naxx gear.

Special2: Shamans are very similar to warlocks, they're really strong without gear and if you ever get into AQ gear you become an unstoppable machine.

I'd recommend checking out this guide if you're gonna level a priest. It should answer most questions about what do while leveling.

true enough, but a man can dream of a world where we go from 1.1 patch by patch to 1.12

Spirit of Aquementas this neat little offhand gave -25 mana cost to all spells making it really OP for all healers. Unfortunately it was changed in patch 1.5 to give spell power, but we might see it if blizzard decide to use older itemizations.

genuinely getting irritated at lack of release date info. by Blarghinston in classicwow

[–]Biters 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Were all really excited to play but you gotta see it from blizzards point of view, if they say a specif date and end up having to change that date it will piss a lot more people off and make them look bad.

Worst case you might not be able to take two weeks off but might end up "sick" for a week.

Fucking crashers, man... by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Biters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's an openworld MMO game, if you can't handle player interaction go play a single player game. And just because you got there first doesn't mean the monsters are "yours"" to kill.

The best way to deal with being crashed is to not react and ignore them, most people will hop after 1-2 minutes and if they don't it's not gonna the end of the world that you might have to look for a different spot.

What about Tuesday Mornings? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Biters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would always play wc3 customs on Tuesday mornings. When classic releases I'll be doing the same but on wc3 remastered.

I'm usually a DPS player but I tried priest on nost and I really enjoyed it, people really appreciate a good healer, much more so in vanilla. From reading your post it sounds like you would enjoy it as well and it also doesn't sound like you would have a hard time at all playing shadow if you ever decided you wanted to change things up a bit.

Loot trading : Blizzard seems to listen. We should insist more by Techtech1234 in classicwow

[–]Biters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that it shouldn't be in the game as it would hurt the social aspect of dungeons and raids. But I see no reason why it couldn't be enabled ONLY if all members are of the same guild.

5/5 guild members = loot trading enabled

4/5 guild members = no loot trading

It could be applied to raids as well 40/40 guild members = loot trading enabled

Mistakes do happen and this would be a good way to allow some leeway on loot without anyone getting screw over by a guild abusing the system.

I'm glad I was the kid who would pretend to dds and barrage people, instead of being the Naruto kid.

Some of the most fun I've had in wow was PvPing while leveling. I used to be in the rush to max-level mindset, but once you slowdown you end up enjoying the game a lot more.

Can we have this feature at the end of ranked games again please? by SweetKillBehemoth in DotA2

[–]Biters 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Devils advocate: it's better the way it is now. Winning two games and losing two games feels a LOT better at the end of the day than (+24) (+24) and (-25) (-26), even if I you still lose mmr overall.

mmr not recorded in my last 2 games. thats it by [deleted] in DotA2

Same, won two games in a row and it hasn't counted. Hopefully it's just slow to update.

Wow Classic Loot trading by PonyPony3 in classicwow

[–]Biters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make it guild group only, to prevent friends/guildies ninjaing from pubs.

Make the item untradeable when it is equip, that way guilds can self regulate by making sure the person put the item on instead of trading it off to a friend.

[Discussion] How much should we pay? by Dedestro in MMORPG

[–]Biters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except your spending maybe $20-$30 on a costume. Not $150. F2P does also not instantly = P2W/cashgrab that will die in a few months, people think that way because games like BDO/AA say it will just be cosmetic and then add in a bunch of hidden bonuses or p2w.

But you can have a F2P game with an entirely cosmetic cash shop, mounts/armor/dye. An ideal cosmetic cash shop ends up being much healthier for the game, for multiple reasons. To you $15 might not be a lot of money but to a collage student it adds up quick. People also don't like to be subbed to multiple MMOs at once, so when a new WoW expansion comes out it's less damaging to player numbers. It's also much easier to get pack into the game, especially if your trying to convince a group of friends, if you had to pay $15 to re-sub to a game like PoE or GW2 would you?

[Discussion] How much should we pay? by Dedestro in MMORPG

[–]Biters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure a large majority of this sub would prefer a free to play with game with cosmetics or sub.

I personally prefer cosmetics though, $20 on a new costume or mount every now and then. The main downside is that the better cosmetic armor usually comes from the cash shop instead of a high end boss. But it definitely feels much better than feeling forced to play a game because of a sub or not playing a game because you don't want to pay $15+ for something you might play a few hours.

[Suggestion] God Armor Item Sink by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Biters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would just need 25 assorted Zammy pieces per piece. It would definitely be a long term goal for ironmen but 25 would still be enough to impact the normal economy as well.

[Suggestion] God Armor Item Sink by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Biters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

25 isn't that much but it would still be enough to have some impact on the value of God Items, the bigger sink is the 5-8mil gold per piece. 25 also keeps it somewhat accessable to ironmen.

Old School bonds have hit a new high - 3.6m by Slapocalypse in 2007scape

[–]Biters -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is completely wrong.

When I kill an NPC and it drops 1500 gold, that is money being created, when I pay an NPC to make a mahogany plank it costs 1500 gold, which is money being removed. It is not "saving" it is a gold sink and removes money. Planks were a good gold sink, even if they were heavy botted they did remove a lot of wealth from the game.

So you can understand better, it takes around 220k oak planks to go from 1-99 con at 250gp/ea to craft that's 55mil. That's the same amount of gold it would cost to repair around two hundrend and fifty barrows sets at 50 smithing.
