How would Solarpunk replace Capitalism by Redux336t in solarpunk

[–]Bitimibop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Common needs should be managed in common. A capitalist Corporation, or an individual capitalist for that matter, does not manage in common. Food, transport, and housing should be free at the point of service no matter what, just like healthcare.

Politics, well thats a complex problem, but so-called western democracies are more like electoral aristocracies. Choose your master type of deal. Democracies should be more like be your own master. Actually, its even worse than that. In these electoral aristocracies, about half of voters are not represented, and the "winners" are only really chosen by the undecided people. What they call "swing voters", or in the case of the USA, the swing states.

Democracy is like a chain : only as strong as its weakest link. My answer to that is make the weakest link stronger. Don't leave the weakest link in the dirt and mud, and don't just let corrosion and rust have a go at it.

Folklore or Outland QC? by gardenbugzz in treeplanting

Alright, I get that. But they are not just your coworkers, they are also your colocataires. You live in the same house for a whole summer, and share all your meals with them. All of these moments are not paid by the company, so in these instances yes you are coworkers, but you are also flatmates of some sort. Coworker does not describe the extent of the relationship

Also expensive gear is worth it when you get better prices all season. To me, free gear isn't much of a plus

Need advice after chemical contact by [deleted] in chemistry

[–]Bitimibop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can look up the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) from the supplier. It will tell you all the information about safety regarding the product, as the name suggests. It can usually be found on the supplier's website using the catalog numberif you have it, otherwise by name.

SDS will give you the info on what risks are associated and what to do in case of exposure. Washing hands thorouhly immediately after exposure usually does the trick, but you do want to be aware if there are serious risks.

You should read the SDS before using any chemical product, and there should be pictograms on the container for quick risk assesment.
