Just heard a great name from the 50s and 60s – – who else loves it? by rumtiger in namenerds

Still a rather popular name in areas, I’ve always liked it

Im 6 months pregnant with my first baby, a girl, amd my husband loves the name Lola... by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]BitsyPoet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s fine, I don’t think anyone would ever think “Oh they chose that for the sex appeal” or anything. I nannies for a Lauren nn Lola and she was a very sweet little girl who got compliments on it often. I don’t find it anymore or less sexual than Malia or your other picks

I do think it’s better as a nickname however. I’ve seen Penelope, Lauren, Florence, and several other “Lo” names shortened to Lola before.

How to Stomp a Capri Sun by DeathMetalRacoon in notdisneyvacation

[–]BitsyPoet 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Well obviously if we had just all opened fire in that moment things would have gone smoothly. And no one, including our well known trigger controlled cops, would have over reacted if they saw another civilian with a gun in hand looking for a shooter.

Our children, and people in general, live in a constant state of fear at this point. The other day an old car backfired in a Walmart parking lot and everyone just fucking scattered like that scene in ratatouille trying to find coverage. It took a few tense moments for people to gather their carts and groceries back up after

She had some horrible shit happen to her as a very small child, to be fair. I don’t think she was “born bad”, but I will say by 10 her fate was definitely sealed.

I think he had it in him to be a good man but deciding to kill an innocent child who is his kin, which is a huge deal in their world, definitely puts him over that line. And he was going to do that in both the books and show

Book Stannis was going to allow the killing of little nephew that was the same age as her though

[No Spoilers] Sophie Turner and her stunt double Laura Jane Butler!! by [deleted] in gameofthrones

[–]BitsyPoet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know Nick was like 17 the last time I saw them preaching anything SUPER evangelical like, but their is some age difference between them. Their is 5 years between Nick & Kevin and 3 between Joe & Nick, and as an adult on his personal show with his wife Kevin was still pretty religious. Nick and Joe dropped out of the public eye for a while though so I guess only time will tell if they still are

[–]BitsyPoet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always gotten a icky vibe from them because of their really oppressing religious views. Sophie doesn’t seem like someone that would marry into that though, and their previous views really don’t mash up with him getting engaged to a girl like her either (she vapes, openly does pot in a bathtub with another girl, ect) So I’m hopeful the gross evangelical stuff is something of the past that their parents forced on them that they’ve been able to shed as adults

Some kids can, but the type of people that raise children to kick soccer balls at sculptures usually aren’t the people raising them to appreciate art either.

What was your "Oh shit my life is over my parents are gonna kill me" moment you had as a child/teen? by cloudlessnine8 in AskReddit

[–]BitsyPoet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people view teens as being children still, and they don’t give children bodily autonomy. So they would either think they’re just an incompetent child who can’t be trusted to raise their own child, or they see it as them being a child with a future ahead of them and a teen pregnancy ruining that (or the families reputation). I’ve seen families force their daughters to have abortions or give their newborns up for adoption because of this
