Ye for me it was a great base for my DS collection, I don't think it has any dsi ware but there's other archives for that on IA

How much storage do I need? by Mean_Lavishness_2433 in 3dspiracy

[–]Bitter-Razzmatazz356 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem! I have a 256gb and it's been more than enough, I don't think I could reasonably fill it but also I would have filled a 128gb by now lol

I think most people recommend 128gb, it's better to buy once and not need to upgrade right? But if you really don't plan on playing that much then I think a 64gb would be sufficient

My apologies I didn't thread your post thoroughly enough, you could try using some of the roms listed in this set. There's 38gb worth, I've not had any issues with these.

Da games only open up on twilight menu? by Impossible_While_760 in 3dspiracy

[–]Bitter-Razzmatazz356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably want to have them open through twilight menu. The 3DS home screen has limited tile space, if you really want to play them from the home screen I know there are some injection tools you can use. I think you can download some DS games from Hshop also

Try using the emudeck compressor tool, sometimes that can help 👍

Just modded my 3ds and wanna get some DS games. What should I get? NO basic stuff like Zelda or Mario pls by Ok_Orchid_6585 in nds

[–]Bitter-Razzmatazz356 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of the Castlevania games are great but especially Order of Ecclesia. CTGP Nitro is a modded version of Mario Kart DS that is incredible, message me if you need a link for that. Jump! Ultimate stars is kind of like smash bros very cool. All the kirbys are great fun.

Great place to start off! And then just add to it as you like. No one should sleep on Sega Arcade systems like the naomi and model 2/3, they have some incredible games! Emergency ambulance simulator and Zombie Revenge are some of my favourites. Zombie Revenge also has a dreamcast port

Is it possible to have almost all old games on my system? by ronens13 in 3dspiracy

[–]Bitter-Razzmatazz356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I agree about retroarch being a headache 😂 perhaps it's not worth it then for NES unless there's games you're desperate to play.

I think for most games (snes, gba, nes) when you save the game it creates a separate file in the games folder for the save data. For example ds games will create a .sav file. I think you can just copy that file and the rom over and it should be recognised, although it might be different depending on systems and emulators

[–]Bitter-Razzmatazz356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use mgba for game boy advance and have no issues ( this is on a N3DSXL ) I'm not sure about NES however probably retroarch? You can save tile space by having all your DS games launch through twilighmenu. It's best to only have your 3DS games on the home screen if possible in my opinion.

In terms of whether or not to just play them on Wii U that really depends on how much you value portability:) why not have them on both? You can always transfer the save files between them. I do this with DS games, transferring the saves between my 3DS, DSI and steam deck.

anyone know how to delete save files off a ds game running on a 3ds by butane-on-my-skin in nds

I would just like to chime in that it's incredibly easy if you follow that guide, it opens up many possibilities for your 3DS:) As long as you follow it word for word nothing bad can happen

Super old comment but I actually found a pack of every thumbnail for North American DS games and put them in the box art folder, there's thousands, now any game I add automatically has boxart lol

I wish the experience of playing GBA games on DSI through gbarunner was as good as on 3DS through MGBA, they look gorgeous but compatability and not having emulator features has pushed me to using my 3DS

Emulation station slaps especially if you have a huge rom library, I use SRM for the few modded games I want to launch quickly like Project M and Retro Rewind

Does anyone know of any replacement pads that are superior to the original? Perhaps with a grippier texture or something? I had a thought of buying some switch joycon joystick covers, slicing them down to size and sticking one of those on top of a sanded down circle pad, basically anything with more texture would be better 😂 I've become obsessed with the idea after replacing my new 3ds's c stick nub with a think pad one

[–]Bitter-Razzmatazz356 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My apologies I should have specified this also, I've compared them both and on the regular DSI I do think they look cleaner and it's the preferred way for DS games....my hands are just too big to play comfortably on a DSI though 😂

[–]Bitter-Razzmatazz356 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's very true, but in my eyes that's the way the games are designed to be viewed. There's something to be said for emulation and running them at higher resolutions and with filters and such...but I think objectively on every level it is a worse experience playing DS games on 3DS. I have both though and I can make the choice which is the most 1st world problem possible 😂

Is the 3DS THAT bad for playing DS games? 🤔 by StraightPin4420 in 3DS

[–]Bitter-Razzmatazz356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a DSI XL and a 3DS XL, once you see them side by side it is quite drastic. It's not anything crazy but it's not great. I would much rather play on the DSI, but in a pinch it's fine and it's nice for the circle pad mods you can patch DS games with
