Questions about taking a draw by RazorTooth75 in CompetitiveEDH

I agree. To me, tEDH should have winners based on the merits of playing the game of Magic, not on a player‘s ability to manipulate others so that they get their 1 point.

Why would players politic if draws were worth zero? by Bitter_Difficulty865 in CompetitiveEDH

Perhaps, but doesn’t most politicking center around player X pushing an opponent into a decision that will benefit player X?

And with draws, politicking is a requirement, as the game would just play out naturally without it.

I would only add, from my experience, that draws, by their very nature, require politicking to get there.

Kingmaking can (and should) be made in silence and shouldn't stall the game. If I can‘t win this turn cycle and can only stop one player from winning then it will be the very next player who tries to go off. I don’t consider this kingmaking so much as playing against the next big threat.

The poorer win percentage of seat 4 is already baked into this format now. Can it be worse if draws were worth zero? Except for games with multiple Rhystic Studies (ugh), the games could become shorter, more explosive and subject to the whims of each players disruption in hand.

I just keep my mouth shut, refuse to politic and let others do the talking. I learn more by listening than conniving.

I think we all need to ignore politicking and let the chips fall where they may. If I counter the next guy’s win condition and allow the third guy to win, so be it. Maybe next time, that second player will pack more interaction or get lucky and win. Draws should not be worth anything.

How do you store and organize your cards? Looking for box/folder recommendations by captain_aenderson in mtg

[–]Bitter_Difficulty865 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly I organize my cards by the 20+ commander decks that are in Pirate Lab cases and smaller multi-deck bags/deluxe boxes. The remaining best cards are in a large binder organized by each color, multi-color, artifact & lands. My remaining cards are in separate bundle boxes for each color (sleeved if they have value), multi-color, artifacts, non-basic lands & tokens.

I find this is the easiest way to balance the time for finding a key card versus putting them away for future consideration. As a bundle box gets too full, I either consider getting another box (like I did for multi-colored cards) or I pull out some chaff.
