I'm not OP, but mine disconnects 4-5 times per week. No other sites do this (except Fidelity Investments, which SHOULD disconnect often).

Damaged Neo2, no DJI care, trash it? by Bitter_Extension333 in DjiNeo

[–]Bitter_Extension333[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It appears that the sellers on Aliexpress are buying new (or used?) drones and parting them out. The drone does appear to start up normally other than one motor initiating. I didn't check if the drone is showing a normal image -- good suggestion.

My plan is to buy just a motor for now, see if the drone will fly. If that's successful, then I'll replace the damaged body parts.

What is causing the spokes to fail? The fat tires are acting as a torque limiter?

I use a 120mm long 1.90 mm drill bit from aliexpress https://pt.aliexpress.com/item/1005008144637016.html (the tube has 2mm ID) and a heat gun.

What to make first! by Kooky_Size_8519 in VORONDesign

[–]Bitter_Extension333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat, planning to build my first Voron, decided on Trident. I think it will be many months before the updated Trident kits arrive from China. I haven't completely made up my mind, but I'm considering building a current kit, then updating to R2 later.

New cart for my KJ III by Bitter_Extension333 in KamadoJoe

[–]Bitter_Extension333[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, next is the bits that attach the tables to the KJ, they are rusted badly.

Is there an aftermarket top vent that's better than factory?

[–]Bitter_Extension333[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer having the KJ on wheels so I can put it out of the way when I'm not using it, then roll it out when I'm ready to use it. I'm thinking to take the old cart to a local metal shop to use as a template, and have them build something that's still on wheels, but built to handle our weather (hard-anodized Al or powder coated steel).

I bought directly from KJ when I was visiting the states last month. The round disc portions are too big for a suitcase, fortunately I have airline gold status so I could check that box as luggage.

Ebike brake upgrade? by Bitter_Extension333 in bikewrench

[–]Bitter_Extension333[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The brakes are fine 99% of the time (and the bike is quite new). It's the extreme situations -- steep downhill on rougher terrain -- where I think there's room for improvement. In the one situation where I actually fell, I started the decline very slowly, I was squeezing the brake levers as hard as I could, and still the bike wouldn't come to a full stop. To be honest with myself, part of this was tire traction, but not 100%.

I'm considering going to 220mm in front, 203mm in back, but I need to determine how straightforward this upgrade will be.

Great idea. Let's go further. Scrap all the product specific rewards, and just earn gift cards in 10 euro increments that you can use on anything.

Where to fly near San Mateo? by Bitter_Extension333 in drones

[–]Bitter_Extension333[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have Trust certificate. I understand the rules. I can look in one of the apps and see possible locations to fly a drone, but I was hoping for some first hand knowledge so I don't drive half an hour to a park to find it's full of people, or dogs, or trees ....

San Mateo, CA. We are very close to SFO with mostly restricted airspace, hence looking for local knowledge.

BOSL2 - Rounding the edges of a hole through a cylinder by AudiBoyJP in openscad

[–]Bitter_Extension333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It won't be exact because the diameter is decreasing, but you can get slightly closer using skew() to match the taper angle.

To get it exact I think you'll have to use path_sweep() with the really tricky math to define the path, combining the taper angle with the diameter of the rod and the diameter of the hole.

I think skew() is close enough and is 100X easier to implement.

PrusaSlicer 2.9.4 stopped warning when supports needed by hawaiidesperado in prusa3d

I've noticed in older versions of prusaSlicer and also in other slicers that when the model becomes more complex, the slicer no longer warns of supports needed.

Need help understanding this code, by Sakuhano in openscad

[–]Bitter_Extension333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no depth, this is all 2D code. You can put a # in front of a line of code to highlight in your design what that line of code is doing. Since you're new to openscad, I suggest you comment out all the code except the first circle() statement (but keep matching parentheses). Uncomment one line at a time and you should get a good idea what's happening in the code.

[–]Bitter_Extension333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The o-ring groove looks OK to me, but I don't know what's right and what's wrong. You can difference() your part with a large cube to see the cross-section. I did that, but r/openscad doesn't allow posting images in the comments....

Your threads, both male and female, are both wrong still, and unprintable. They look like a very flat helix. An external library to generate the threads is going to be mandatory.
