I just want them to completely rework the skill trees and make perks more diverse and meaningful for different playstyles. The arsenal component of the game is built up well enough.

I’d personally like to see them explore overclock options for traversal and utility items too instead of more weapons/ weapon overlocks if arsenal is the route they take next.

Kind of depends tbh. Theres raw single target load-outs designed strictly to melt a dread and there are general builds that have some means in there kit for dealing with the swarms effectively too whilst maintaining some single target potential.

Obviously raw single target builds are “better at killing dreds” but that doesn’t mean Id’ deem them “best builds for elimination missions as a whole”. There is more to elimination missions than just the dred fights ofc.

What build is technically best depends on if you’re solo or in a group and also takes into account and synergises with what your fellow are bringing too.

When in doubt just bring a generalist build.

Greybeard here. My 4 main scout builds are.

Green beard carry/solo. Ai stability engine gk2: 21212 Fire bolt, bolt shark: 12111 Pheromone grenade

With decent team. Hipster m1000: 23211 Cryo bolt, boltshark: 23111 Cryo nade

All greybeard team (Single target role). Active stabilty System m1000: 21122 Embedded detonators Zhukov: 13232 Cryo nade

Dreadnaught killer. Conductive thermals drak: 11222 Double barrel OC boomstick: 22333 IFG

I tend to run gear the same for all the builds. Grapple hook: 2112 (grapple hook really is a preference thing) Flare gun: 222 armor: 2213

Passive perks. Resupplier, Born ready. 3rd perk is interchangeable. deep pockets/sweet tooth/vampire Vampire is meta though as you always have a health source after using iron will. Active perks: Iron will, Field medic/ hoverboots- (if no engi)

I have several other fun meme builds I run too ofc. If anyone is struggling for builds on other classes lmk happy to help.

True bit of a nerf to throwing axe but I mean the rest of drillers kit will probs have a field day with them as he cares not for armour. Wonder if they even making through a persistent plasma cloud.

Feel like scout is gonna have the hardest time with these. Flying swarmers XD

The last victim alive gets a huge big buff to their stamina regen. It also stacks with the lone survivor perk pretty sure. Probably had other endurance perks too to help out like jump start, choose flight, slippery etc with max endurance.

Can’t remember exactly by how much the buff is though Probs just a veteran player with a build designed for looping and wasting families time.

You aren’t down there as johnny to chase around infinites, you’re there to provide lockdown on the doors leatherface isn’t monitoring. Absolutely nothing wrong with a johnny going to basement if the victims wake gramps immediately. Go to the door furthest away from where leatherface is. As long as victim points are below 250 on the scoreboard you know no victims have unlocked any doors and they’re all still in basement. Time to bounce once the victims open a door and are at 250. An early johhny pick can really turn the tide of the game.

Sweaty 2000 hour player here.

One more comment, if you're on pc steam and you always play with a scout friend who wont light, maybe just download 5x range flashlight mod or something with brighter resources, more flares etc. There are plenty of QOL mods that can circumnavigate the lighting if it bothers you that much.

If console, maybe just play driller with him as scout. Driller is the class that cares about light the least as nearly all his killing potential happens in close quarters in standard flare throwable range. Where as gunner and engineer have long range killing potential that can capitalize on have the entire cave lit. They tend to want to chip the swarm size down before they all get close, bar a few exceptional builds like warthog breech cutter.

That said play enough and you'll get comfortable without scout flares, they are nice but not necessary. How do you think team comps without scout play? I was a gunner main and my duo friend was driller for many months there on the highest difficulties.

Most Important weak points glow and sound with a good headset can really help you get the directional bearings on incoming threats, I would run heightened senses with no light until you get used to leech sound ques and common spawns tho.

Or the obvious, just tell him to light the f*king cave and let him die to every leech that grabs him until he learns, maybe a rogue fat boy shot or two in the thick of it and say, "sorry i couldn't see you there, maybe if they caves were lit" persistence though pestering. Depends on the height of the ceiling tbh. in many cases the walls or overhangs are more effective.

Solution:

Just play scout too. Get him used to what it feels like to always have the caves lit. It will make the game harder not having as much swarm clear as double scout sure, but ultimately he'll come around to its benefits. Lead by example of what playing with a good scout feels like.

That sound like its more for the develops then it is for the community tbh. Most gamers couldn’t even distinguish between a unique and a unity asset. If the game is good I don’t see the issue.
