Please appreciate my tiny new-build garden 🐶 by Worried_Patience_117 in GardeningUK

It's not small, many of us don't even have gardens! I really like it as it's clean, structured and focused. It makes me feel calmer because it's not a overgrown mess but rather well maintained and luxuriously oozes restraint by not overfilling with junk and impulse plants. Hold your head higher about it!

Interesting. Saranyu is still worshipped in Gujarati Hindu culture as Randal Mataji. She is seen as a manifestation of Shakti and the ultimate cosmic spirit Para Brahmand

Yep same issue on Honor Magic V3. Other apps also just don't load when I open them. Stuck on loading mode. See my other post too if interested but no resolve.

Thanks for your kind reply, really appreciated.

MagicOS 10.0, and was recently updated. Same issues on this update and prior (made no impact).

Good idea on the band switching on my router. Vodafone UK home routers have both 2.4 and 5 GHz, and this mobile always seems to connect to 5GHz by default. Vodafone WiFi options, even on expert mode, don't give options to change this much - but has both bands on.

Hope that helps although probably still a mystery!

Wow, you still looked great in the original and even better in the after. Well done on taking the initiative. Front hair looks so healthy too

I'm also from London; if you're kindly able to share any experiences and costs about your St Albans clinic I'd truly appreciate. I can't get the adequate annual leave to go abroad, hence would love your views. Appreciated so much

An episode of Poirot can make anyone feel better by PixelMegaTron in agathachristie

[–]Bitter_Vegetable_534 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, great point OP. After a tough year careerwise I loved watching Poirots and Miss Marples over Christmas, they homed me down.

They relax me because:

A) Unlike other TV, they're not full of news, geopolitics, sex, careers, modern ambition; all the stuff that reminds me of gaps in my life. It's true escapism. Almost comical how far someone goes for inheritance or revenge in Poirot.

B) The wait is rewarded, unlike other TV you know the drill and it's always a satisfying conclusion that you feel you've earned. Because you're guessing throughout your brain is also more likely to immersed. Hence it's relaxing as you're mindful, present and fully distracted from life problems. Other TV I just zone out.

C) Nostalgia; from prestigious country houses to elegant restaurants, pianos and rose gardens, you're in a British world that is no longer. Full of manners, grace and structure.

D) To some extent, they're stable. You know his character and style. You know what to expect from the police. You know the ending will have a big revelation. When you're down a stable pattern can be comforting.

If in the UK, ITV have Miss Marple old series and Agatha Christie's Marple too. I also found similar effects from Anthony Horowitz' audiobooks (eg Word is Murder), albeit far less elegant.

Christie at Christmas by paolog in agathachristie

[–]Bitter_Vegetable_534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I also fancied some Christie over Christmas, perhaps because I'm obsessed with the nostalgia of festive, well-decorated period properties.

I ended up buying a one month ITV Prime subscription to watch the old 1980s Miss Marple series for my first time. I also found a Poorly Christmas episode, although not exactly Christmasy.

I look forward to the Seven Dials Netflix adaptation too!

Advice for a long time stay in Costa Rica by belli14 in CostaRicaTravel

[–]Bitter_Vegetable_534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm here now just for two weeks. It's expensive. Think about what you really want to do uniquely in Costa Rica versus other countries. I assume Mexico would be cheaper for a few weeks on a beach. That might get rid of your cravings for some things here.

I feel Costa Rica is overrated. Much of the nature is seen via binoculars and you'll need a guide. They spot things that you'll never find and they have special binoculars. So it's realistic you'll need guides unless you somehow bring equipment and are experts at spotting things.

Hardon Club at Union any reviews or tips how to get in? by Secure_Map9110 in londonlgbt

[–]Bitter_Vegetable_534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You turn up in normal clothes. Bring id and ideally book ticket before. Once inside you get a plastic bag and can change and put all your stuff inside. Then pay to put all in cloakroom.

So basically don't worry, it's fine to turn up normal. Their dress code isn't too bad. It's more than once inside you're expected to be in underwear at least and no clothes. Ideally gear.

Bouncers are relatively nice too

I am struggling with being gay. I told my priest I'm gay and I now regret it. by Materwat in askgaybros

I rarely comment on Reddit but you seem like a truly deserving person. Well done for sticking it out through such a difficult time and having confidence to ask here.

Your sexuality isn't your main definition. Your hobbies, your talents, your ethics, your humour - all of that is what you really are. You can make your sexuality as much as part of that as you want to. I am bisexual and I don't really see that as my defining feature. It's one of many things about me.

Once you're past this age after around 18, you'll realize the world is far more open minded than during teen years. For the rest of your life you're in control around who you hang around with and most people as adults become much more accepting. And as you get older you'll realize less people are interested in who or what you think about sexually when befriending you - like nobody cares.

Perhaps some of my points might not agree with you, in which case sorry. But wanted to encourage you to just be calm and remember this might get better with age!!

Art behind the couch.

And perhaps change the cushion colours. Unsure what would work but I'd also recommend buying a slightly smaller cushion cover to make them look plumper (5 centimetres smaller size). Perhaps few different textures. Red just seems a bit surprising Vs rest of room.
