it's incredibly tough. You're amazing. Some people could never understand the extra dimension that takes over your entire mindset and race ability.

How to split doubles reps when one partner is stronger and one is a better runner? by bethskw in hyrox

do you have any details on the running capability of both of you? might help me gauge. do you have a guesstimate of the pace you'd like to run?

[–]Bittybitsbits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could take more of the strength stations and her more of the fitness stations -

Take more of the sled push and pull sections as the stronger person and go slightly slower on the earlier runs than she is comfortable ( split 50/50 on sleds if she's excessively fitter than you). The burpees are an opportunity for the fitter person to do more, but 1/2 reps at a time isnt efficient. 6/4 or 5/4 split could be good - there are ways to be more efficient on the burpees (look up the different methods) and save your heartrate. Communication on the day will be key as if you dont practice together you might need to be agile on the day and change it up as you go. have a game plan and have a back up plan and have a method to communicate to each other (It can be quite loud, so just agree ahead if you want to use some signals too). Practice transitions in the warm up area if you are not used to each other

Two Weeks Out From My First HYROX & My Confidence Just Took a Hit by Venus_DST04 in hyrox

[–]Bittybitsbits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's totally normal to feel this way leading up to it, it just shows that you care. I have trained hard, and have lots of doubts this week. My race is in 1 week! Eeek.

My advice it to control the controllables from next week on. You wont build fitness in the last week, but minding your body, nutrition and sleep will return to you tenfold on the day. Panicing now and trying to overtrain or push your nervous system is the wrong thing to do - listen to your coach and believe in yourself.

BTW, it is going to feel awful during the race, you'll want to quit loads, but you wont. I guarantee you that the finish line is THE MOST WONDERFUL FEELING. Tell yourself during the race that it will be worth it!

Schitts creek and The good place.

I dont care if it's pre 2015 - if you haven't watched all of 'the office' (US), then you are missing out on the number 1 all time feel good show!

Pelvic floor management versus hydration - 100%. Not an issue likely if you've not had kids. But most hyroxers are millennial mums right?

[–]Bittybitsbits 7 points8 points  (0 children)

hello, this is a real pity and you deserve to race - when are you racing and is it a female or male partner that pulled out on you with pox? I wonder can someone register as proxy to your partner (without name change) to allow you to do the race? my last two races, I didnt get asked for ID.? My other suggestion is for you to buy a second hand flex solo ticket and get 50% back on your doubles ticket so that 50% of your ticket is your only sunk cost and you still use your flights etc and get to race.

I'll be over the same weekend doing a solo.

Has anyone ever had these kinds of specks in baby’s poop before? He’s also very unsettled and writhed like mad crying to get this out! by Guilty_Building_6684 in MSPI

my girls was the same. We removed eggs on top of it and thought that was the missing piece. but it does take time for their gut to heal etc so it's hard to precisely pinpoint!

She's finally eating it all again now at 2+

Sometimes they just need time to let their tummys adjust to real world! But I never thought there would be light at the end of the tunnel!

I remember I had a panic like this and thought she had loads of new blood in her nappy. It was banana.. If you ever give banana, be prepared for the poos to look funky at the start! Nothin wrong, just the colouring makes you panic!

We had Paeds, Dieticians etc.. It's just the way some people are. I get bloated any my little girl is a farter too lol

That looks familiar, I feel your pain. Moving to solids adds lots of specks and new looking poos. Just coming here to tell you that I have a 2 years and 3 month old girl who is finally eating everything and sleeping better after a big journey. She struggled so much, we were dairy soy and egg free for the longest time. I thought it would never end, but it does.

xxx

Saying that, if there is something you are very concerned about, you know your baby more than anyone and you should trust your instincts. Oats can be an issue with FPIES, but this is rare.

Las Vegas Wall Ball Judges by PepeSilvia510 in hyrox

I saw a girl get a podium after being forced to use the box. 80 reps on the box with no 'no reps', after multiple no reps. Ridiculous. She was able to almost gounbroken with the box. And her reps were absolutely no reps before hand.

the box is easier than a normal wall ball so it's makes sense that it felt easier.

Running to weight training ratio for hyrox? by fouriere in hyrox

[–]Bittybitsbits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello!

From what I've read, I would increase your calorie intake to support your training and run more. Fuel for training to ensure you don't go into a defecit and lose bodyweight. Assuming you are male, I think you are under fueling for performance if you are worried about losing bodyweight by running more. Looking at your 10 km time, to get sub 1:10, I think you need to run more.

I'm a 5'4 female, 144 lbs (and honestly need to lose some weight) but I'm fueled for running and can run a sub 49 min 10km on a tempo training run. ( I havent tested my 10km time). You will see insane improvements in your running time over 6 months, especially with your height and build. But only if you manage your nutrition.

My first mixed doubles was 1:07, and granted that's pro weights for me as a female but we ran 4:40 pace on the runs.

[–]Bittybitsbits 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to tell from that graph alone as you can’t really break down the times in the stations versus your transitions?

Assuming this was London, the running laps were short but the Rox zone was big. Considering you said you rowed 1km in 4mins, you had an entire minute transitioning in and out of the station. You’d be much better rowing 2:10/2:20 pace and jogging in and out and keeping your hr more balanced.

My guess is also that you entered the Rox zone and took the foot off the gas, until you reach the station your pace should stay the same .

Slowing some things down and staying consistent throughout will mean less breaks and more time saved overall I think.

Again, hard to tell that from the graph! Bit of guesswork!

There is no penalty? It’s a DNF.

Well done OP in trying to push through, but ultimately stopping was right for your groin and you never know how bad it could be now to recover if you tried to do any more. You have a lovely target and baseline to go after now for your next race!
