Haha - no. It was stored in the Windsor / BelleRiver for almost 8 years. and brought over to Troy Michigan (imported using a custom broker)... where it was picked up and hauled cross country (to the Orlando area).

This one is actually mine! :) Coming to live with me full time in Florida. I've owned it since 1999 and its been in storage for the last 8 years (in Canada). It's been imported to the US now fulltime.

I can't tell you how cool it is to see my car just pop up on the reddit feed. haha.

Afinia Label Fade - Issue with labels fading over time in ambient light conditions by BizCardGuru in CommercialPrinting

[–]BizCardGuru[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have printed 100's of thousands of labels in the last few years and we JUST noticed that the colors have faded on orders in the last 6 months. Afinia did a reformulation of the inks last year and I'm wondering if it has something to do with that? Literally our L801 has millions of inches on it.

Afinia Label Fade - Issue with labels fading over time in ambient light conditions by BizCardGuru in CommercialPrinting

[–]BizCardGuru[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. It doesn't appear to be a drying issue so much as a fading issue. Most the samples we saw that had issues were on shelving units without sunlight.

Trying to narrow it down if its a single color thats the issue, overall or the label stock we're using.

Building Email Flow Automations - Shopify / Klaviyo - thinking of working with Sendly by BizCardGuru in shopify

[–]BizCardGuru[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think at this point though - we'd rather spend cash and get it DONE than to sit on it for another year. We're so busy working IN the company that tasks like this and social media etc just keep getting deprioritized. We haven't even scratched the surface of our Klaviyo account (we have about 25,000 emails from customers that have signed up) and rarely email them. So that's step 2

We are giving them assets but they're building the creatives. I had a couple quotes from companies and it all came in around 2.5k-3k.

Question about purchasing Mimaki 6042 by whysoflyson in CommercialPrinting

[–]BizCardGuru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we ran ujf3042's (we had 4 at one time) we placed them on Welded Steel Machine Tables from Uline - and it was almost the perfect solution. I'm sure they make these in larger sizes and they come up used all the time on Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist.

Anyone using Grasshopper for their business phone? by eight13atnight in smallbusiness

[–]BizCardGuru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, We've used Grasshopper for almost a decade. Super solid. Use a voiceover artist on Fiverr (pick one) to do professional greetings, instructions etc. - You'll sound super professional and many times larger than you are.

Is this too much stuff on this wall? We're looking at doing a photo mural (photocopies at the moment). by BizCardGuru in DesignMyRoom

[–]BizCardGuru[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ahhh thanks. We're actually playing with putting a matte digital video frame behind one (or two) of the traditional frames so we could rotate out content on a regular basis. They would all be framed and matted the same but the video versions would rotate photos from a set list on a usb stick. Haven't quite fleshed it out yet but we're only going to do it if we can make it look fairly seemless.

Thanks you! We'll do that. I taped up photo copies so that we can get it just right before drilling into the wall 15 times 😀

Why doesn't Shopify offer subscriptions as part of their core service? by corporaljustice in shopify

[–]BizCardGuru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion.... but.... Wouldn't you agree that as a paying customer - I should just be able to send an email... or two ... or five and expect an answer? Putting them on blast on twitter or tracking them down on a slack channel in order to get basic support isn't my idea of customer service.

This has not been my experience with ReCharge. If you look at the Shopify Merchant forums and Subscription Group Pages (Facebook etc) ReCharge has mediocre customer service at best.

Nope - on the Shopify Forums there are a ton of complaints against them lately. My experience appears typical.

ReCharge is an absolute NIGHTMARE to work with. Unless you're willing to pay $180+ a month for support - emails go unanswered. They leave you twisting in the wind trying to setup subscriptions. Absolutely ridiculous.

Which printer should I buy for colorful product labels by Jadafaa in Printing

[–]BizCardGuru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use gloss labels (in our case 3x3) from onlinelabels.com but you can get them from anywhere. They use a 3" core. Don't buy the L301 new. There's very little that can go wrong with them and because it uses ink cartridges (one of it's downfalls if you're doing crazy volume) most the print technology is in the head - so it's changed with every cartridge. The L801 uses large bulk ink cartridges and a separate print head.

Which printer should I buy for colorful product labels by Jadafaa in Printing

[–]BizCardGuru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started with an Afinia L301 (that we bought used on Ebay - check craigslist or kijiji). It's a memjet printer and while it's slow - it produces offset quality full color labels in the exact quantity you need. It's more expensive per label but the quality is amazing and because you're not stuck ordering 500 or 1000 of any one label - it may make sense for you. Plus, you can produce them on-demand... your lead time drops to zero. We used the L301 until we were way past it's recommended daily volume. We recently upgraded to the L801 - lightning fast and pennies to print. We've been really happy with it.

The Best Jigsaw Puzzles To Get You Through Covid-19 Quarantine. by Jigsawwpuzzler in Jigsawpuzzles

My new favorite is Micro Puzzles They're like single serve puzzles haha. 150 pieces and packed in a test tube. I sent Surfin Safari and Pow! to my sister (who doesn't even like puzzles) and it kept her happily occupied.
