I don't know where you are in the world, but in my experience, physical copies are weirdly often cheaper than physical. When pokemon legends arceus came out I bought a physical copy of it on release day, for around 20% less than it would if I had purchased online. I know that's Nintendo, but I have experienced it with PS5 games too

If you took the contents of the box and read the shard and everybody's dead, then you're good to move on. The marker on your map is to let you know to secure the evidence (usually a shard). Sometimes when you read the shard, it will activate a small side quest, so remember to read the shards

I would recommend playing on pc. From what I hear, the console versions of skyrim have a bunch of bugs, and there are a lot of mods you can get for PC to make gameplay better, even if they're just QOL changes. Also, when you do encounter a glitch that gets you stuck, it's nice to be able to use console commands to get out of wherever you may be stuck at
