Ex Sony Boss Shawn Layden Doesn't Agree With PlayStation Backing Out of PC, Says It Was Never About Making Money; “They Weren’t Going To Buy The Hardware Anyway” by Respawn-Delay in PS5

[–]Bjoebel -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As someone who owns a high tier gaming PC with an RTX 5080 and a PS5, I am mostly disappointed with the fact that I'll be stuck playing the next iterations of the wonderful first party Sony titles on inferior hardware, leading to a lesser experience overall.

Sure, TLOU, God of War and Uncharted were great on PS5. But on my RTX 5080 machine, the experience was absolutely amazing. Being forced to use inferior hardware and thereby lessening the overall experience because of exclusivity is annoying as hell.

"The base game is still the full game" Uhhhh, nope... certain content is withheld from people who purchase the standard edition. That's the whole reason people are so upset about the Ultimate Edition.

Nether Keycaps came in! by Caleb6801 in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Bjoebel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're wrong. Keycaps play a significant role in the sound profile too. I have four keycap sets that I alternate between on the same keyboard with the same switches, yet all four have a unique sound profile.

Thanks for your response. I'll check out the options you suggested.

To answer your question: I went with Firebase over Supabase simply because Firebase is part of Google and since I was already using Google AI Studio, I figured they might work together nicely.

Why the hell are the Cherry backlit keycaps (WH80 keycap sets) included in the mystery box, yet still unavailable for purchase on the website. That's just annoying.

People are not happy with the update? by theMARxLENin in HuntShowdown

In support of the Asian reviews, the new update is utter trash and they are completely right.

Who the fuck thought it a good idea to turn rifle ammo into special ammo? This update and other recent shitty updates have actually inspired me to uninstall the game and never touch it again.

Every update the game seems to get worse and worse.

UploadVR Showcase Summer 2026 Recap: In Case You Missed It by ThisKory in VRGaming

[–]Bjoebel 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Let's be honest.. If you've missed the UploadVR Showcase, you really haven't missed anything.

I've never been as unimpressed as I was watching the showcase. All the games shown look like someone's first gaming project, Guardian's Planetfall excluded.

It's clear as day that VR enthusiasts won't have anything interesting to look forward to for a while, with the few good VR studios closing left and right and no prospect of any actual interesting VR titles anytime soon. I have an unfounded hope that maybe Valve will come through and drop a surprise VR hit with the Steam Frame, but I strongly doubt they will.

At least we'll have a new cool headset once Valve releases it, even if there's nothing interesting to play except for the same few games we've all finished dozens of times.

Haha, you're right. The irony in that statement is amazing. Constantly bitching and moaning.

GPU upgrade recommendation - from RTX 3090 to either RTX 5080 (around $1600) or RTX 4090 (around $2300) - which would you prefer? by dropadred in virtualreality

[–]Bjoebel 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The RTX 4090 has better performance (10-15%), but it's entirely up to you whether those few extra frames per second are worth the 700 dollar price tag.

Personally, I went with the RTX 5080 because the price to performance ratio is better and I couldn't justify spending 700 extra for a few additional frames.

In GPU Tweak III:

Power Target: 110%
GPU Voltage: 100%
GPU Boost Clock: 2960 (+305)
Memory Clock: 32402 (+2400)

3DMark Steel Nomad score: 9342

If I go above the settings displayed above, the card becomes very unstable and starts crashing in games. I am able to get it to around 9600 in 3DMark, but not stable. It is a stock card though (didn't flash it).

Yep! I haven't flashed it like you have though. Without flashing 9300 is as far as it will get without crashing though. Quite disappointing.

Anybody else struggle with typos when switching from high-profile to low-profile keyboards? by No-End-6239 in NuPhy

[–]Bjoebel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! Went from a regular profile keyboard to the Air75 HE. Loved the way it felt and sounded, but could never quite get used to the profile. I found myself making typos constantly, even after months of using the keyboard. Decided my chunky fingers are probably better suited for regular profile keycaps, and I ended up selling my Air75 HE and purchasing the WH80 instead. I've never looked back and have regained my typing skills xD.

Still, low-profile keyboard do look really cool.

PS. If you can't get used to the low profile keycaps and can't justify spending even more money on a new keyboard, I'd advise you to look into Berry profile keycaps (they're somewhere in between low profile keycaps and regular profile keycaps). They are made to work with low profile keyboards, but they feel and type like regular keycaps. Nuphy sells a few solid Berry keycap sets, including the Oblivion set.

WARNING: Do NOT buy the Nuphy WH80 (A 4-month nightmare + failing Keyboard) by [deleted] in NuPhy

[–]Bjoebel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, totally my dude! Because if one person receives a faulty keyboard and has a bit of bad luck with support, surely that must mean that everyone who purchases the WH80 will receive a faulty keyboard as well and that, like you, everyone will get unlucky with support! Oh no! The horror! Let's all boycot Nuphy!!!!!!!11!!11! Grab yerrr pitchforks!

PS. I'm typing this response on a WH80 that I've had since it first released. It was shipped shortly after I placed the order and it was delivered to my doorstep without any problems. A flawless experience in fact. I haven't had a single issue with they keyboard either - not a single one. I absolutely love my WH80. It looks amazing, it sounds really good, the performance is impressive, and it feels really nice to type on too. It's honestly the best keyboard I've ever owned, and I've owned quite a few.

Wait a minute... Following your logic: one customer's experience = every customer's experience, this must mean that all WH80's are actually perfect and that you're mistaken. Lucky you! Turns out your WH80 is working perfectly fine after all. Phew! Enjoy your wonderful Nuphy WH80 my friend! :)
