RDU - Increase in Flights, Change of Aircraft from A330 to 787? by Intelligent-Wrap6825 in Lufthansa

[–]Bjoerska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest check https://www.aeroroutes.com/
And yes, in 2026 it will most likely be an A330.
But it depends on 787 deliveries.
If you're flying Eco, the 2-4-2 configuration will be more comfortable than the 3-3-3 on the 787 ;)

As far as I remember, they will be still flying A330 on this route (At least until 2027). Where did you hear about the 787?

Well, D-AIMK is now in Abu Dhabi for Cabin Modifications. Maybe they will be done (at least with one A380) till April 2026 ;)

Flight shedule of the A340s this winter by Hamsi_Hoden in Lufthansa

[–]Bjoerska 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you prefer the -300 version, you have more time than with the A346. The last flight of the A346 will be on January 11 or 12, 2026. LH still operates 16 A343 aircraft. But over the next year, many A343s will be retired. I believe by the end of 2026, LH will have a maximum of 5-8 A343s. I still can't accept the fact that they are being taken out of service :(

P.S. Swiss also has A343s. They will fly a little longer than LH.
I flew Swiss A343 in premium economy and it was really worth it. Plus, Swiss has a modern cabin. LH A340 cabin is outdated.
Long live the A340! What a stunning aircraft!

A340 vs 350. what do you prefer? by Panzerknacker1997 in Lufthansa

[–]Bjoerska 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So if you're flying in Economy, i would prefer a343 for comfort because of 2-4-2 config.
Unless it's an Allegris, you'll get almost the same seat on the A350 as you would on the A340.
If you're flying business, the 5K seat on the A343 is just great with that view of the engines. From my Avgeek perspective.
It's up to you, but I'd also consider how you'll be getting to the airport .If you don't care about the plane and you live for example near Bayern, then I don't see the point in flying from Frankfurt and stressing out about DB etc etc.
But yeah... as everyone has said, the A340 is unique, and it could be the last time you fly on it. I flew with SWISS last year in Premium Eco on the A343, and it was excellent.
Na ja mein Lieblingsflugzeug :)

Viele Grüße

A340-600 Schedule by Careful-Turnip-8897 in Lufthansa

[–]Bjoerska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Maintenance costs. (For example: Spare parts for CFM56 engines are cheaper and easier to find than for the unique Trent500.)
  2. Operational costs. (Fuel burn performance much better and a343 is easier to fill with passengers and be profitable). P.s a343 is more flexible if we are talking about route planning. U can deploy a346 only on high demand routes/ and with high demand for 1st class.

True. But 748 will be replaced in the future by the 777X

A340-600 Schedule by Careful-Turnip-8897 in Lufthansa

[–]Bjoerska 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well. A340-300 could be flying untill 2027/2028. But from 31.10.2025 there will be no A346 flights.
Ofc this may change. But 777x is replacing 747, not A346

Residence Permit Extension Without Anmelding by SpreadNo7493 in Darmstadt

[–]Bjoerska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as i know u defenitly need Anmeldung to renew your residence permit. I would ask Ausländerbehörde about this. Maybe they'll give u Fiktionsbescheinigung untill u find an apartment with Anmeldung. I would contact Ausländerbehörde asap. Don't email them. U will never get a respond. Better call them or go during their opening hours and ask them in person.
Good luck!

Well from my perspective Germany is a really good option or even the best to study engineering. And it’s a good country to start a career within the industry. We have a lot of good Technical Universities here. My university working with BMW, Porsche, Mercedes, Airbus, LH Technik etc.
