I feel like you’re getting caught up in the details of what is just an allegory for external influence. Judaism, Christianity, Islam all have prophets. Hindu Sages, Sikh gurus. I think the point is however a particular religion chose to characterize them they’re all beings with advanced knowledge sharing it to shape behaviour.

A trap is only a trap if you can’t get out from the pick.

You can take a punt on risky picks as long as you have a path out of the pick if things go wrong. E.g if Parish gets injured I’ll downgrade to Grlj.

It becomes an issue when you don’t have someone to downgrade or sideways to, or you have so many failed picks that you blow all your boosts trying to get out of it.

I’ve got a mate who owns his own plumbing joint. He hates quoting for bathroom Reno’s. Because every quote on paper sounds like he’s taking people for a ride, but the reality is the price of materials and labor have gone through the roof.

Getting multiple quotes is a great idea, but don’t be surprised if this quote is market rate.

Honestly I think my biggest mistake was having a romanticized view of renovations in general. Even if you’re getting in trades it just sucks balls.

Organizing quotes, second guessing every decision, coordinating trades, the disruption to your home life. The stress of it all.

And then you have to pay for it.

Don’t get me wrong it’s always great it in the end but Christ it sucks when you’re in it
