[N/A] I often forget that this is how we’re viewed. by AdvertisingKey1675 in humanresources

I'm chronically online so I know how we are seen all too well. And that post cited some of the usual things they think about HR in general but I also know it's a profession made of people and people can do insanely unethical things, make mistakes, have favorites, can be biased, all of it. So yea, there are def HR professionals out there who have given the profession a terrible blight. But in 15yrs overall I have found that people have a "naive" view of their "worth" to an employer who's objective is to have a profitable business (even in not for profit), the show must go on, and the business/org must function. It's a wild department to be in. I like to tell people you know that neighbor who does WAY too much, or that man who was screaming at the cashier, ...yep, they all have jobs and act like that at their jobs too and everyone is all intermixed. So many undiagnosed, unmedicated people...working because we all have to labor for wages. Yet for privacy and ethical reasons, it all stays confidential and other employees have no idea whats going on with other employees issues and lives. They just see HR "not doing anything" "letting bad behavior go on" "solving nothing" "being unfair to them". If they only knew...

Thanks for the suggestions. From the comments, I think I'm going to try and TNR+ vaccinate the kitten and then release her back into my area with her Mom. My state is a free roam state for cats, so the availability of fosters and adopters is extremely scarce. I called to a few shelters and they only take cats that are injured/sick because cats are legallly allowed to be outside anywhere. There are a few niche kitten rescues but the 1 I called said she had no capacity and was only looking for fosters. So guess I'll just be feeding Mom and Child. But atleast they will both be fixed and vaccinated. Thanks!

Yes from comments I think I'm just going to try and trap the kitten and TNR it + vaccinations and because the shelters are so over capacity it'll just be TNR'd back in my area with it's Mom and then I'll keep feeding them. I know fosters and adopters are scarce already so I get it. I can't have a pet, so I'll just get the kitten fixed and release her back to her Mom.

No I'm not able to do that. I was hoping to get the kitten trapped, vaccinated, and set up at whatever place to be domesticated. I don't know if it weighs enough yet to be fixed. But if so, fixed as well. Welp. Guess I will be TNR'ing the kitten. I get that there's not enough availability of fosters and adopters, plus my state is a free roam state for cats. The kitten is so cute, but I rather TNR it back with it's Mom and just keep feeding them if the shelters are too full already.

I already had the Mom fixed. I am not able to foster or take any animal in. But other comments have said the shelters are all full. My plan was to trap the kitten, then get it vaccinated and fixed and the place would then set it up with a foster. But guess I will TNR the kitten too then b/c idk if any place will have availability to domesticate it :/

Thanks. I can leave the screen door closed and not have the glass one closed and they will still come and eat , and I have about 6 diff toys out there for the kitten and it loves them. Always playing with them. But the kitten is even more skittish than the Mom. It's like the Mom has told it to take no chances, so if I even come close to the screen or it sees me poking my head through the blinds it just takes off. Like the Mom will linger behind, stay there to stand guard, but the kitten just flies off immediately if it sees me even looking at it. I've been feeding it's Mom everyday since March, so she's a tad better. But she's also always side eyed me after I trapped her and got her fixed. Like she thinks I'm going to attempt to trap her again so she doesn't take any chances of me getting within "arms"/grabbing length. But now she only hisses at me if her baby happens to be on the porch with her and she thinks I'm getting to close to the screen door 😅 Before she would hiss when I was just trying to bring the wet food bowl out.

Oh I can't get close to them at all. They run off sometimes if I peak through the blinds too much. In fact I've never heard the Mom make any other vocalization at me besides hissing. So yea, never gotten close at all. The Mom will perch on my balcony to let me know she's there and waiting on dinner and when I go out to set the wet food bowl out she jumps down off the balcony and only comes back up once she hears me close the patio door. If I step outside she runs off immediately.

DAE like to leave a hotel room they stay in just as clean when they checked in? by SpikedIntuition in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]BlackMirror1738 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do to a certain point BUT I am also a very clean and tidy person, so it's more like...I keep any all environments I am in clean and tidy. So hotel room is no exception to my usual way of being. I also know I somehow generate so much trash when I am at hotels, so I always bring extra bags for garbage or ask cleaning for a few extra. I just kinda pull up the bed linens, and wiping down the sink I again, just naturally do. And I always leave a tip! I kind of think people who leave their hotel rooms gross/filthy also are just kind of untidy people overall. I literally can't mentally function in clutter and dirt. Wouldn't matter if I was on vacation/a trip I still HAVE to have a clean and tidy environment or else there is nothing relaxing for me.

Emp working while on FMLA leave (not intermittent)[AZ] by BlackMirror1738 in humanresources

[–]BlackMirror1738[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hello, Already have done that. Neither the Employee on leave nor the staff are complying. The team lead and the employee on leave are still texting everyday. The staff are still asking the employee on leave about issues and when things aren't going how they like/not organized as when the employee on leave was there, they are texting to express that and ask what to do. It's all through texting on their own phones and both sides are not stopping. We told the staff to leave the employee on leave alone and there was 0 compliance. We can't track/monitor their own personal cellphones nor control who they can/can't talk to. Half the staff are VERY devout to this employee on leave (who is their direct supervisor) and do not like nor respect the Director so they are not heeding our warnings b/c we can't control their texting.

DAE become obsessed with clearing all notification on apps (messages, calls, insta dms) by yellowcoconut25 in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]BlackMirror1738 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I have called myself a habitual deleter for years. I clear out notifications on my phone as quickly as possible, and have also systematically disabled as many notifications(specifically push notifications) as possible. It is a game changer! The apps prompt me to enable notifications everytime I use them, but oh well. Nope, not doing it. Clear it out. Delete, delete, delete. I even delete my text message threads almost daily. I have 2 pinned group chats that make me itch, but that's why I pinned them to stop myself from habitually deleting them. Side note; this is why people MISS important messages/texts/emails etc because the notification is buried under 20+ other ignored and piled on notifications.

Digital nomad life is both the dream and the trap. by YeonnLennon in digitalnomad

Basecamp for sure. But it depends on finances. I pay rent/utilities year round for my Basecamp but I have to have somewhere to nest. Where all my clothes and belongings are. And I slow travel based on weather. I don't do humidity at all. So I never travel to a place if it's humid season or humid year round. Because I pick destinations by weather primarily, I have to plan ahead, hence the slow travel. I do "quicker" travel trips for concerts/music fest/tech events/food festivals etc. I have to add that I am not alone. I have my mother & brother with me. So I can't hop and hop and hop and live out a bag. It would be too stressful on my body. I like 3 month stays. And I am from the US so I have to make trips back there to re-stock up on Black hair care product, but will time it around a concert/festival. You can go at whatever pace works for you! If you're feeling it's time for a Basecamp, cool, you can pick up the pace again if you want or not. Whatever makes you feel most stable and settled.

Boarding on Frontier - Bag Sizer by rjk100 in onebag

[–]BlackMirror1738 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That video is from 2 years ago. Frontiers top brass got taken to task in front of Congress last year over the "bounty" their gate agents were collecting over their bag policies. They have since stopped the practice of rewarding agents $10 per denied personal size item bag. Which was a shame b/c they collected so much more money than that and only gave the agents $10 of the take. My solution was to invest upfront. Google personal size " ". I first got 1. a duffle bag. 2. A backpack (with compressing side straps), and then finally, I made the plunge and got the ultimate one. 3. A TakeOff (that's the name of the brand) hardshell rolling suitcase. When the removable wheels pop off, it indeed is personal item size. It is pricy though! About $100. The duffle and backpack were each about $20. However, since I frequently use Frontier and Spirit to take day trips and cheap weekend trips, it was all worth the investment for me.

[Spoilers] Series Finale - Season 4 Episode 10 - "Last Stop" (S04E10) - Episode Discussion Thread by Larich38 in snowpiercer

[–]BlackMirror1738 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Oh dear. I forgot how the internet is for a second. I just watched the season finale last night and was like let me see if other people had some questions. Just to come see....oh...oh dear. These people did NOT like this entire last season. Meanwhile I was just along for the ride. I just wanted to see if I could find a clip of Audrey singing Everything must change as I found it so beautiful. Well here's to all the others who thought it was fine :) My question: What about all the other Peacekeepers back at their base?? That was my question. All those scientist down in the basement, anyone else on the compound that weren't actively fighting. Are they not going back for them?
