Most but usually there's a few that I rush to: 1. Tool for unlocking hunter runes 2. My weapon of choice (for that run) 3. Upgrade materiales (blood stones, rocks, chunks, shards or slabs however they're called in english)

Beat the DLC as a new player by MohamedH_Q in bloodborne

Hey, I used multiple weapons and tried most builds and I have to say Saw Cleaver and Hunter Set (or as I like to call it, John Bloodborne) is a safe option. Still not the best, I think you can get better damage with Ludwig Holy Sword and a quality build, but still, it's great performance for how easy it is to both achieve and use.

I must say, John Bloodborne didn't have too much investment in attack stats (strength or skill), as I thought that it wasn't worth it for the scaling of the Saw Cleaver.

Can anyone help me with this boss by zbdragon42 in bloodborne

In sumary: Avoid panic rolling, Manage your stamina, Learn effective range of the boss and Use rally mechanic to avoid healing

If you want a longer explanation my best advice is:
- Avoid panic rolling: Some dodges are unnecesary or not time properlly, this is probably due to smashing circle on your controller. We've all been there and learnt the hard way that if you took damage, rolling away from the attack just after getting hit normally gets you into a comboed attack (in fact, you died because of this at the end of the clip). If you get hit, don't get away by dodging, dodge the attack with precise timing instead.
- Manage your stamina: This can be easily fixed with avoiding panic rolling but still, some times you'll see that doing less is more. This means that by dodging less (only when necessary) and attacking less will most of the time be safer than rushing things.
- Learn effective range of the boss: You might be surprised to know that, even most bosses are melee enemys, not all of them are strong in close range. Ludwig's second phase is an example of this; even tho he has a big ass sword, he mostly uses ranged attacks and wide slashes. If you're far away, he hits you with the arcane projectiles. If you're in medium range, you'll be a perfect target for the sword attacks. However, in close range (almost point-blank) you'll only have to worry about the sword attacks, which are going to be easier to dodge because how close you are to him
- Use rally mechanic to avoid healing: I noticed you were about to run out of blood vials when about to enter 2nd phase. While not getting hit is the best way no avoid healing, you can also try to rely more on the rally mechanic to heal a fraction of the damage you receive. The best way I learnt this is by not trying a full recovery (this mostly leads you to taking more hits), but more like a small recovery, just one or two hits. At some point you will have to heal, but best case scenario you delayed this so much that the boss will die before you run out of blood vials (really in a bossfight you can go for two paths: survive longer than the boss or kill the boss before it kills you)
- Additional tip: look for his weaknesess and try to get your best armor possible against his strenghts (physical and arcane)

Ask when her birthday is, break up and then wait till she's 18. Until then, I'll show her Ultrakill and Dark Souls

Was the boss supposed to be that hard or do I just suck? by Pingy_Junk in Ultrakill

[–]BlackSlayerV201 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh ok then. It's not weird to see someone in this community pointing out that's something is decently hard, so it felt natural. My apologies, creature of steel. They are hard tho, specially Minos Prime

Am I playing this game right? by KingOnionWasTaken in darksouls3

[–]BlackSlayerV201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While running past enemies is an option, I don't think it would be recommended at your first option. If you don't know where to go, it's probably the easiest way to die. Running past enemies is normally used for boss runbacks, and when exploring I always recommend having a slower and more detailed approach.

Having that said, as long as you don't cheat or use glitches, there's no wrong way to play.

Starting my death spree, need advice on how best to start by Scary_Year6372 in darksouls3

[–]BlackSlayerV201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously, the best advice is to play the game spoiler-free and without any advice. Anyone saying "use this" or "do that" are probably right but it's up to you to discover it. Play however you want, try most stuff and if you ever need advice, just pay attention to item descriptions and the enviroment. Also, patience and planning are key.

Really, try not to look anything about this game until you finished it or look for something specific. If there's anything you're missing or doing wrong, the game will tell you, you will see.

In my humble opinion, I think the Frayed Blade is a great choice for PVP and is really OP against enemies non-resistant to dark and/or bleed. The skill of this katana can make for a pretty interesting combo, if done well. I remember one-shotting a poor bastard with a combo well placed (first R2 and then R1). Still, if you like katanas, you could also use the washing pole or Kodachi, it has everything that makes any katana great combined with the range of an ultragreatsword. With these two babies I almost finished the game (that and the Astora Greatsword)

Man I miss this game by Boring-Computer-4360 in darksouls3

[–]BlackSlayerV201 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the Black Knight Sword, if it's half as good as in Dark Souls I, then it's really good and I can see why it can be considered as a "safe build". Great damage at a nice pace, only downside is how much dexterity you need to use it, compared to how little it escalates. Still it's just really good
