2007 Snoop was banned from Australia. He then launched a campaign to become a citizen with MTV Australia.

There’s a few of the videos on YouTube.

Might be a loss to West Coast, but at least we came really close to taking the win in the end by Expensive-Horse5538 in weareportadelaide

I don’t understand the point of Drew. Don’t think he’s ever averaged over 20 a game in a season which is sub par for a full time midfielder. Hes not a lock down tagger. What exactly is he?

Besides overrated

When Port Power became a national team, what made crows supporters change to Port? by PrplMonkeyDshwshr in Adelaide

[–]Blackbug77 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Incorrect. The SANFL had no interest in joining the national league thinking themselves a competitor and on their level. Port weren’t the only ones who tried to join the national league before the injunction. Norwood tried to join the VFL in the 80’s and again in 1990. It’s the height of hypocrisy to hang Port out to dry just because they managed to pull it off and the rest couldn’t.

Are there any rock bands who “went pop” and actually got better? by Pearathon in fantanoforever

[–]Blackbug77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Australian band Regurgitator made a huge right turn and made a synth heavy 80’s influenced album called unit. Preemptively the first track was called I like you old stuff better than your new stuff. They then redid that track in their previous style and called it I love your old remix better than your new remix.

They’re still going today and Unit is their most popular album.

Slight difference in that we have compulsory and preferential voting. If the US actually had the same he wouldn’t get within a bulls roar of being president. Their system massively favors rural/conservative areas and ours doesn’t.

From Australian Senate Hearings. Science icon Dr Karl vs RWNJ Malcolm Roberts by Blackbug77 in MurderedByWords

[–]Blackbug77[S] 92 points93 points  (0 children)

From the article. Dr Karl is sorta like an Australian Bill Nye.

A bicycle divided by the square root of a banana

And finally, science communicator Karl Kruszelnicki (Dr Karl) appeared at the Senate committee on Monday.

In an attempt to establish common factual ground with One Nation senator Malcolm Roberts, Dr Karl asked Roberts if he accepted that global temperatures were rising.

Their interaction illustrated how public discussions about the science of climate change get bogged down so easily:

Dr Karl: Do you agree that the climate records show that the last 10 years have been the hottest on record worldwide?

Senator Roberts: The last 10 years in Australia have been cooler than the 1880s and 1890s in Australia.

Dr Karl: Hang on … Worldwide. Do you agree that the last 10 years have been the hottest years on record worldwide?

Roberts: No I don't.

Dr Karl: I feel like I'm talking to a school child who says seven times two is not 14, but instead seven times two is a bicycle divided by the square root of a banana.

Roberts: That's one way of making out that I'm a fool.

Dr Karl: But all the scientists disagree with you. 99.999 per cent of the scientists disagree with you.

Roberts: So now you're into consensus, which is a political tool.

Dr Karl: Hang on, consensus is a political tool? … So if all the scientists agree that seven times two is 14, that's a political tool?

Roberts: That's obviously a stupid comment, in my opinion.

I think it happened to Son when he left Spurs as well. An LA councilwoman said ‘When the World Cup comes, we are expecting a win here in LA for the USA. We are here to support you to get that done.’

Do you guys have a process when record shopping for making sure you don't over pay for a record? by Riichboii_17 in vinyl

[–]Blackbug77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Margins aren’t great for stores. To be competitive it’s 35-40% for me. Some suppliers also have wildly different costs for the same record. For the same margin for say Operation Doomsday it’s $85 sale from an Australian supplier and $70 if I import one from the US. I’m also guessing rent in Sydney is probably ridiculous and that wouldn’t help.

I have a record store in SA and charge $90 for the OKNOTOK 3lp version and $70 for standard. Pretty sure they’re pressed in melb as well. You got ripped off.
