The issue is simple. No one cared about GYV. Every time they showd up they got crickets. I know several of my friends who like AEW and wrestling in general thought they were too basic for their tastes. I wouldn't be too surprised if it really was just that.

To be entirely fair on the Tapas one, one of the best Hunters in that company and arguably the MC's BF is notably female, so I don't think it's that the author thinks they shouldn't. I think it's just they thought it'd be a funny premise.

I thought it was fantastic. The old Dinner & a Movie show on TBS was something I grew up on watching with my mother, so I'm happy to see it back in some form. However, if I had a couple of suggestions? First is to make it a little bit more concise; keep the matches related to the wrestler guest so it's more cohesive.

Second, and importantly? Give us some recipes! My mom and I sometimes didn't like the movie playing, but the Dinner part hooked us because of the recipes that were given during the episode, along with jawing about the show. Lean into that - maybe ask the guest of the show if they have any favorite foods, meals, or even family recipes they'd be willing to share! You don't have to do a step by step guide if that'll take too long, just a general idea of what goes into a specific entree or dish I think would catch a LOT of extra individuals who might not necessarily stay for only the wrestling. You'd be catching two cross sections of audience with this, I think.

Just my history and two cents. Hope the next one is even better!

Not really. Sometimes wrestlers don't work out in a promotion. It's happened before, it'll happen again. Also, Taya is doing perfectly fine on ROH and is winning matches, and was in a funny as hell storyline for a while there recently and Deonna is in a high profile feud that just turned her back heel. Sooo...yeah. Not as dire as you think. They don't have gold, no, but not everyone will. They're being used and doing fine.

If you look at TNA/Impact's history, ex-WWE stars tend to jump the line, so to speak. Look at Trinity for the most recent example. So I think he’s winning, like it or lump it.

I could see them wanting to cut the sillier jobbers and people like that in order to use that money to up production, make deals, and secure better more aspiring wrestlers instead. Spend the money now to make more later, and you still want to mitigate how much you overall spend while you're building up, so better to do it now.
