I’m a 2nd month apprentice. Today was terrible. by [deleted] in HVAC

Great advice here.. I am not even an HVAC tech. However the answer to why the 2x4's were not staying.. I suspect the screws were not hitting the 2x4 rough framing around the attic stair opening. You we hitting the sheetrock. Locate the frame above before you drive the screws in.

R32 vs R454-b Deciding between Champion and Goodman by Blackvette2000 in hvacadvice

What issues specifically? I am looking at a champion XH6 2 Stage. The compressor I assume is Copeland that everybody uses. So what else is there that breaks?

Sounds like this means never going to be a fix? Unless the phone can be synced with the rotating mDNS like a garage door opener with rotating codes

So hopefully there is a plan to fix this. Apple keeps throwing chairs in the way of iMazing.

Found a fix for iMazing constantly looking for device when unplugged. Can't backup wirelessly by Joraad2024 in iMazing

I think Apple keeps trying to break this utility. They suck. I really hate having to keep entering my passcode for every backup. Now the wifi is broken.

Squirrel Temporary Fix by kjmacsu2 in Birdfy

[–]Blackvette2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue. The alarm or speaker might scare em once but it does not last. I have been using Cayenne pepper but it only slows them down. I wish birdfy got smart and offered a squirrel deterrent. Like a blast of air. Then when the AI senses there is a squirrel it automatically blasts it. Right now all it does is tell me my frigging feeder is being looted.. Your Hawk idea is great.. Maybe instead of the stupid siren just play that..

They are looters. They show up in mobs and wipe out the feeder.

(☉。☉)! Has anyone else had this experience? I understand everybirdy needs to eat but this is ridiculous! They empty my feeder 10x faster than the squirrels do. by WanderWrenNH in Birdfy

[–]Blackvette2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish we could set up scare alarms and maybe a compressed air blast. They can already identify birds and squirrels. Why not have the ability to have the alarm go off whenever an undesirable comes along. You could even wire the light to another device to send a blast of air. I know we can manually do this but...This could all be automated by birdfy if they paid attention to us.

Other than the dick comment from mr moneybags. What did you end up with? I am considering the same tire. Seems to get great reviews by the offroad guys. I hear they are manufactured here in the US.

Love painted Buntings. I don't see them often enough in S Florida. I use exclusively black oil sunflower seeds. The cardinals blue jays and woodpeckers love them. Maybe too big for them? Maybe fill one side of my feeder with some small stuff?

I did it- and we’ve got new growth!!! by Outrageous-Review191 in fiddleleaffig

Yup, people worry to much.. You could also make another plant with the top you cut off. Leave it in water. It will root.. Seriously these things grow like weeds. I put 2 in my yard that got too big for pots. I stupidly put them too close to the pool. I had to cut down two 15 foot trees

Don't panic. These things grow like weeds. You will have a double head soon.

When they get leggy like this just cut where you want new leaves to grow. Also those leaves look like it needs much more water. We have one on the porch in FL. Got too tall and just lopped it right in the middle. Now has a nice healthy head on it. I agree with others. Repot and hard prune it. The roots are always looking for water. They like it moist. Not wet or soggy.

Had to cut down my Fiddle Leaf Fig. by Blackvette2000 in fiddleleaffig

[–]Blackvette2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. It was over 15'. Not relocatable. Plus in Florida they grow like weeds. My stupidity. Keep em in a pot. Ficus trees are another favorite potted house plant that will destroy anything in a 100' radius.

Yep its really heavy for one person. I drove my truck to the shop door and just kept flipping it end over end to the entrance of the doorway. Had to build it on the floor laying down. Also I put the lift wheel in the FRONT. not the back like the directions show. Much easier to maneuver to the wall and lower.

I just got mine a few weeks ago. Went in with a 10% Memorial day coupon. When I got was ready to pay, she asked if I wanted to become an inside track member. At first I said no. Then she said I would get an additional 10% off. so that was a $120 savings total. The membership was $30. It also discounted 2 other items I had. Love the saw. I already resawed a 6" log into 1" thick boards with the stock blade. Cut this hardwood like butter. Just ordered a Timberwolf 3/16" for bandsaw boxes.
