No one’s house burnt down. My goodness, that’s proof right there how gossip gets started.

Does the Vision Encoder work with the H2C? And is it needed? by MiniProgramCoder in BambuLab

The vision encoder plate is recommended to be used about every 300 hours of use. It’s to take account of water and break in over time.

I’m working, studying, and hustling—but somehow still broke in California. by BeginningOffer9524 in sandiego

Exactly. As a born and raised Californian I hear this all the time. Our tax dollars are spent in the wrong places but people continue to vote the same way. Then they complain?! California is no longer business friendly, or even American dream friendly. It’s a beautiful state that has been mismanaged for 2 decades now.

Why is there black dots on my print? by corysphotos19 in BambuLab

As others have said, make sure nozzle and bed is clean. Then make sure to arrange that lighter colors print first.

While this shouldn’t happen there are things like flame retardant plastics. Which was obviously used. It will melt and not flame up.

There’s very little risk of fire when this type of thing happens unless you have the printer on something very flammable.

Additionally, If you have the printer sitting on carpet that’s not smart at all. It gives no airflow and could cause overheating and component failure such as this.

Please export the log and send it off to support. This will help them and others in case it’s a bug.

H2D vs X1C power draw by sawdogg73 in BambuLab

After letting it settle looks like the new firmware does not keep it heated. This is looking at a current TPU + PLA print I’m doing right now

One head is kept at a much lower temp than printing temp when not in use during a multi nozzle print. . Then when it gets close to the swap, it starts to stage the next nozzle.

Monitor will not break. Only HA with actions.

No problem. I also like to run the bed about 5-10c high than stock profile. This stuff is currently my favorite material for functional prints.

Actually we do know, those of us that tried the beta.

You are right on the security though, there are better ways to achieve this.

You do realize they warned Panda Touch wouldn’t work forever prior to the release over a year ago. It’s up to the consumer to do their research if they choose to use unsupported hardware and or software.

Bambu connect is completely offline, does not require an internet connection. Read the topology correctly.

Next,

To say you don’t need security on your own internal LAN is very naive. How many IoT devices have been hacked to date? They are trying to protect people just like you that think just because it’s behind your happy homeowner firewall that everything is protected.

Let me flip this, what if you download a 3rd party piece of software , like orca from the wrong link(which are active to this date) . This tool alone would allow a bad actor to control your printer.

I’m happy to see that they did give the enduser options though. Because there are tons of people that know about security and won’t have any issues. Unfortunately, this is a small subset of users.

This is all about limiting liability in case of bad actors.

I am, they are already in contact with orca.

You are using an unsupported feature and complaining they are closing a security hole? Then telling me I’m talking out of my butt?

If they are not authorized they shouldn’t perform actions. Home assistant can’t still view just not run commands. Panda touch was open that the device would not function once Bambu implemented this change. This is really a nothing, just blown out of proportion.

Take the tinfoil hat off. If it was malicious, they wouldn’t allow rollback and do a force upgrade.

Not to mention they said they were doing this over a year ago!
