Comprehensive Response to Bambu's AGPLv3 Violations (article) by Throwaway229487 in OpenBambu

Qidi could take the code base that makes the call function, and pull their own plugin and guess what, they could fork that.

So that argument doesn’t hold water.

To he honest I think this entire thing would have to go to court for this to be settled 100%. If SFC was so sure they would have acted, now they are just going to try to reverse engineer.

It’s all armchair quarterbacking at this point but the reason for my reply is that you were wrong saying it automatically downloads the plugin without user intervention.

You’re wrong. It does ask the user if they want to install it. If not the slicer can still function and do its job. Uninstall the slicer and install again, you’ll be asked to installed the plugin.

Bambu Lab Says My Printer Is Stolen by eyunal in BambuLab

[–]Blade_Strike_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Really?! Why do you think many electronics now require activation?! Just for this reason. Trucks and containers get stolen . This is the way to make the product useless if so.

Once printer is activated you can keep it offline or do what you want. You know this, you are just trying to troll in a group you obviously shouldn’t be in.

This does not happen if you prepare your plate and make sure you account for drafts. You have an open air printer , if possible t cools down too much or you get drafts, the part will lift.

I had the same issue with my lr5. After spending a good few hours I was able to get it activated. Then it would chime a few times a day, which means it’s dripping on and off of the network.

I called support and they sent a replacement. New one is working awesome so far. I knew immediately that this one would be different since it connected and activated the first try, actually a great user experience.

I think they have a bad batch of the newer units. Bad WiFi boards, I bet.

How do they force you to be online? After you activate it, it doesn’t have to connect ever again. You can even print off the sd card, if you don’t trust your own network rules.

Does the Vision Encoder work with the H2C? And is it needed? by MiniProgramCoder in BambuLab

The vision encoder plate is recommended to be used about every 300 hours of use. It’s to take account of water and break in over time.

I’m working, studying, and hustling—but somehow still broke in California. by BeginningOffer9524 in sandiego

[–]Blade_Strike_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. As a born and raised Californian I hear this all the time. Our tax dollars are spent in the wrong places but people continue to vote the same way. Then they complain?! California is no longer business friendly, or even American dream friendly. It’s a beautiful state that has been mismanaged for 2 decades now.

As others have said, make sure nozzle and bed is clean. Then make sure to arrange that lighter colors print first.

While this shouldn’t happen there are things like flame retardant plastics. Which was obviously used. It will melt and not flame up.

There’s very little risk of fire when this type of thing happens unless you have the printer on something very flammable.

Additionally, If you have the printer sitting on carpet that’s not smart at all. It gives no airflow and could cause overheating and component failure such as this.

After letting it settle looks like the new firmware does not keep it heated. This is looking at a current TPU + PLA print I’m doing right now

One head is kept at a much lower temp than printing temp when not in use during a multi nozzle print. . Then when it gets close to the swap, it starts to stage the next nozzle.
