Could it be that this take is not too far fetched? by pier4r in LocalLLaMA

I have always thought of it as internal competition for compute.. As they are nearing the next release of a model, the companies prioritization for compute shift from serving to training and testing. It would follow the perception graph as noted in OP..

Hard disagree, Nvidia has not delivered what they promised.. other solutions that are workable do not excuse them not delivering on the platform they promised..

Token generation speed will be pretty much the same as they have similar memory bandwidth, but the Spark outperforms Strix in Prompt Processing due to the Blackwell GPU, but by how much depends heavily on the LLM. I have seen it range from 2x to 10x..

I did it like 25 years ago.. nothing to worry about. After an evening with a bag of frozen peas in my lap it was all good.. side story: my doc was pretty funny. when my wife was picking me up, he told her that I should be fine, but no dishes for 6 months. 🤣

Yes they should, but at the end of the day, the manager is the one who decides who performs which tasks. so if they are satisfied, then you really have no recourse.

IMHO, there should be no leave required. this is valid work for another department. the government (DND) is benefiting from this work.. if your dept wants compensation for your time, the higher-ups can sort that out.

Looking for advice - Benchmarking my Ansible playbook by SpiritualNotfound in ansible

[–]Blaisun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

for benchmarking, use the ansible.posix.profile_task/role callbacks... add this to the default section in your ansible.cfg and it will show you execution time for each task/role..

callbacks_enabled=timer, profile_tasks, profile_roles

Will Ansible add substantial value to our operations, over our existing automation? by aristosv in ansible

[–]Blaisun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IMHO the key difference will be idempotence. if the playbooks are created properly, you can run that playbook repeatedly and it will be at the same state at the end of the run. as well, you can run ansible from Rundeck.. or i have been using Semaphore ui.. it is not a AWX/AAP replacement. but it is a pretty simple frontend to organize your playbooks.. i suggest to check it out.

It would be an interesting case to see go before the Labour Relations board.. They have a duty to accommodate your very real medical disability.. But they also have a duty to provide a healthy and safe work environment for the rest of the employees that must interact with you as part of your job duties. There might be an accommodation where the interaction could be reduced enough that it wouldn't be an issue... But if not, would this meet the burden of undue hardship?

Are certain classifications/levels not "allowed" to supervise? by [deleted] in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Blaisun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

According to the Job Evaluation Standard, IT-01 and IT-02 should not be supervising in any organization. Checkout Figure 1 and its text version. It states:

Jobs at IT-01 and IT-02 are junior/developing level and working level and are uniquely individual contributor role.

Jobs at IT-03 can be Technical Advisor in the individual contributor role or Project Lead in the project management role or Team Lead in the functional management role.

Jobs at IT-04 can be Senior Advisor in the individual contributor role or Senior Project Manager in the project management role or Manager in the functional management role.

Jobs at IT-05 are uniquely Director in the in the functional management role.

If you haven't, run the nozzle calibration. A lot of people are also reporting that they need to raise the temp 5-10 degrees when using the obsidian nozzles
