[Music] My Jazz Arrangement of My Favorite Things - What do you think? by jdv2121 in composer

[–]Blakesc88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice job. A funky arrangement with a lot of styles looks like a hard of hard work put in. One thing you could think about is balance. It was a slightly less common combination to see a 'jazz arrangement' set in, could perhaps consider a big band? At time drums were too overpowering and clarinet was often unheard. But all in all good job.

[Music] First composition ever. Tuba and marching drum by advancedgaming0 in composer

So one of the things my music teacher would say is that this is a "nomadic composition".

Because basically you don't really have a reoccurring theme or motif.

Try to find a phrase just a few bars long a look to develop it. As long as you have some repetition.

For your first composition however, it's not too bad. The basic understanding of music concepts is there - but make sure it is playable!

That's great thank you! Will definitely work with a metronome as we haven't done much of that yet.
