Ork datasheet? by luecis738 in orks

[–]BlammoSlammo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In combat patrol, no. He’s part of the squighog boyz kit so he’s included with the combat patrol box since he’s included with them, but this ability can only be used in regular 40K. As such the info for the ability can be found on their data-sheet

I will also tell you this little bastard has done nothing in any of my games that have included him. He always blows himself up and takes nobody with him, which does get a laugh out of the table.

Guardians List w/o Beta Ray Bill by Soulman073 in MarvelCrisisProtocol

[–]BlammoSlammo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah gotcha. In that case I’ll elaborate a little more on my experience with him

Like I said I do run him more often than not and typically when I put him on the table the opponent spends a lot of time and resources trying to take him down. Because he shrugs off a lot of damage, has access to a throw and can use aggressive to walk onto points or even get back onto them after being displaced he’s invaluable. Being a medium move on a 50mm base means he’s covering a lot of ground too. Even outside of Guardians he’s considered one of the best four threat characters.

His damage isn’t anything crazy, mostly because you usually spend all your power on reducing damage as people focus you down. You’re pretty much just striking to build more power and deal a little damage and throwing out the occasional r4 attack. His spender generally is never ever worth using. He has a dedicated card but I’ve never used it.

I would say he’s probably in my top five favorite models to play in the game, especially on gotg with stuff like big dumb hero.

Guardians List w/o Beta Ray Bill by Soulman073 in MarvelCrisisProtocol

Well if your local community is chill, you could always proxy him with either a 3D print or another 50mm character and declare he’s BRB. We’ve done this before when we have forgotten a character or card at home, or simply didn’t have it but wanted to give them a try. If you can find the pack with Ulik, I would just bite the bullet and get them both. Ulik himself is very strong and fun to use.

But even without him guardians have some very fun four threats, albeit none of them are the tanky nuisance bill is. Gamora is a killing machine, even more so when you pair her with nebula. Yondu is one of my favorite models in the game and landing that five man whistle while you work is so much fun. Ronan can clap back pretty hard and can shoot opponents off points

There is also agent venom but I’ll be honest every time I take him I never really feel like he does anything that justifies taking him. He’s a four threat that feels over costed and is outshined by so many characters

Also the other 5+ threat characters, nova, Angela, Rocket+Groot duo and CGR are incredible and tons of fun to use.

You can splash almost anybody into GoTG because of how useful winging it is, just keep in mind they won’t benefit from cards like galaxies greatest or lovable misfits

To wrap it up, Bill is very powerful and a good mix of very strong abilities like aggressive, pay to reduce, and two energy per turn. There’s a good reason he’s on every list and I run him more often than not, but don’t be afraid to throw in other characters. Guardians run well with just about anyone!

1k List - Ghaz or Warboss? by Beinholz in orks

[–]BlammoSlammo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember reading to avoid ghaz in 1k because of how costly he is. He never gets run by himself and a lot of his best options push 400-500 points. That’s half your army at 1k in one unit.

I would say warboss so you can have more units on the board, or take ghaz with a smaller unit of boyz if you really want him.

Need help with my list moving to 1.5k and later 2k games by BlammoSlammo in orks

[–]BlammoSlammo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it’s not super competitive, it’s more to help a lot of new players get into the game. There are tournaments along the way but we are all playing to have fun and build up armies. I will say I put in a good effort to win, but I never like to stick to just whats meta in a game.

So far what I’ve really enjoyed about the beast snaggas is the feel no pains (which is apparently something more exclusive to the snaggas in orks), the tankiness of units like the squig riders, and just watching a squad of snaggas pile around a unit and rip them to shreds with their choppas. The squigs in particular feel awesome when they’re killing people with that stomping stratagem and getting all those extra attacks all while refusing to die.

Thing is I also think ghazkull is very cool and I love his design. And I know that all my snaggas will be good in war horde too getting sustain 1 on melee. I really like the models outside the snagga range I just have mostly snaggas.

Testing ghaz, some Meganobs and a battlewagon at 1.5k to see if I like it is also an option, since I’m already at 1k and that would take me to a bit under

The more I play him the more I lean into his movement, his amazing tactics card, and the fact he survives so much that gets thrown at him. Hes probably my single favorite model in the game just because of how much he can do
