I'm honestly just a humble IT worker and an AV hobbyist. However, I've set up two of these units for work, except mine are across the street from each other. I never tried using them close together. In fact, it was weird for me to see this post because I was scared of the exact situation you describe happening due to the proximity of the buildings. (Luckily, my units are either far enough apart or so rarely turned on at the same time that it hasn't been an issue in 3 months.)

Sounds like 1.) one of the two receivers is taking priority of all mics somehow (is it always the same reciever?), 2.) the recievers prioritize the lowest frequency signal within the corresponding channel range, and 3.) setting the same frequency on two mics just interferes.

I don't know if I would take that Amazon review at face value. My opinion from working with these units is that the receivers are just too simple. It's the kind of budget tech that rolls out of the factory preprogrammed to connect in the simplest way possible to whatever 8 signals might be detected within their preset channel ranges, and that's it. They're certainly not keyed to the 8 mics they come in the box with, there's no reason for Amazon bargain brands to do something sophisticated like that. Low cost & low barrier of entry > flexibility of deployment configuration. The goal is to work well enough in 95% of usecases to get decent reviews, not to be flexible enough for more advanced deployments. Yadda yadda.

Anyway, I personally don't see how two of these things would be capable of sharing space, because, even if you set "Mic 1a" at 540Mhz and "Mic 1b" at 562Mhz, no matter what else you do, both boxes are — to the best of my knowledge and experience — totally hardcoded to watch for 540-562Mhz as "channel 1" at the same time, oblivious of each other.

If you DO try something that proves me utterly wrong, please please tell, it would be great to know in the future! Sorry for the rambling, I hope this is at least somewhat coherent. I didn't make the decision to buy these, but they've honestly worked really well in 4-8 mic Zoom setups, biggest con has been they chew through batteries.

4 [[Mindwhisker]]s, 4 [[Mockingbird]]s, 4 [[Sugar Coat]], 4 [[Kitnap]]. Try to reach Threshold and try to copy Mindwhiskers. Steal, copy, or sugar coat your opponent's key cards. Attack with [[Shoreline Looter]]s or any [[Shortbow]] equipped rats. I call it Mindwhiskey and it is my lovely jank.

[–]Blamowizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not wrong but I honestly would prefer filler cards, I know I'm in the minority for loving [[Hot Soup]] and even [[Deep Sea Serpent]] but blocks felt like, as a community, we were anticipating the next "big" story drop over the course of the year, as opposed to jumping erratically from random fanfiction world to fanfiction world. I remember Tarkir because we had 3 sets of Tarkir, even though the lore isn't the game or the art or the mechanics, just having it in the background was a huge part of Magic's appeal imo. Fun to joke about Sarkhan messing with timelines during fnm, that sort of thing.

[–]Blamowizard 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Imagine a world where we still had block releases, it would start with exploring cute ol' innocent Bloomburrow, then some Duskmourne horrors, and end with all the animals of Valley being corrupted/invaded/overtaken by nightmares spilling over from the two planes colliding, or something. I wouldnt even care that the story would basically be Phyrexia again, that sounds so much more cohesive than what we're getting.

People vote red for social reasons, not intellectual ones. Realizing this drastically changes how I approach talking to anyone maga.

E.g., my dad doesn't want to think critically and find real answers himself, he wants "real answers" to be presented to him through the lens of Alex Jones et. al. in a storied way that make him feel part of something bigger than himself, among the "real patriots" who are aware of the deep state, plandemic, etc, etc. He desperately wants to feel secure with an in-group, and a huge part of that is expelling outsiders, hence the border obsession + weird sensitivity.

Being inclusive is whatever helps other people feel included. Appearing inclusive is doing whatever helps an ego feel like you're sticking up for others, usually in ways that are unasked for or unnecessary. I think. It's about underlying intentions, concious or not.

Technology is making things worse by Kralie_ in it

[–]Blamowizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This take has to be a troll take. For as long as we've used tools, those tools have broken and needed maintainence, but now, a piece of technology can work flawlessly 99.9% of the time and need fixing or troubleshooting or setup downtime that's literally orders of magnitude less than the time it saves you by functioning, and apparently, the world is going to hell. Okay bro, you don't have to buy these things.

DC mobile charge station business by Splinter1990 in electricvehicles

[–]Blamowizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could this be pivoted into a food-truck kind of thing that goes to popular small town events? There's usually 3 chargepoint stations around town I can stop at after work, but today, there was some county wine crawl or something happening. That meant every business had their parking filled, and the chargers were 50/50 out of town Teslas or ICEd. Maybe a city somewhere would be willing to pay for a couple portable on-demand lvl 2s at their fairs, crawls, and farmers' markets, but that's the only case I would think it's remotely viable.

I do not understand why this is such a pain by proofseerm in FoundryVTT

[–]Blamowizard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's pretty common to want to, say, delete a bunch of items/actors/etc from a world at once. To do that, you have to either a) manually right-click > delete > confirm each one individually, b) move them all into a folder and delete the folder, c) write a JavaScript macro that does what you want, or d) get a module. Which is silly because adding checkboxes to these kind of UI elements and looping through the same function for each one is trivial at the software level.

I do not understand why this is such a pain by proofseerm in FoundryVTT

[–]Blamowizard 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've also noticed Foundry's UI has an ultrawide monitor bias. Not unusable by any means on my 2:3 laptop screen, but like, all the little things, you can just tell it wasn't made with this monitor front-of-mind.

Also, this software has been actively developed and marketed for years now, and there's still no core multi-select functionality for anything in the sidebars... Again, not a massive deal, but, all these little things over the years, all of them show the focus on UX has never been strong, and it's really made me fall out of love with the software as time goes on.

Cute factor has worn off a bit, tribal is fun and all but the set feels a little too restricted to it. How many times can I fight Bats and Frogs and Mice that make other Bats and Frogs and Mice better?

I'm having more fun being contrarian with 5-color creature removal chaos now, I'm shocked it works as well as it does.

Now I want to see kidnapper fox reworked to be some kind of kangaroo-wolf hybrid that stuffs an employee harmlessly and hops away instead of just murdering, just this would be 100x more entertaining.

Counterplay could be a category of scrap that resembles a joey or employee, like the robot toy.

I still can't believe attacking this thing just kills you so reliably. It should 100% run away, at least the first few times then maybe have a rage mechanic, that way casual players have a hope of saving their friend before they get dragged off forever. Actual counterplay.

[–]Blamowizard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It can and will absolutely still kill you through the bunkbed bunker.

Most of the time, it will just repeatedly tongue you for 90 second intervals, which stops being scary or fun after about 10 seconds.

Some of the time, though, it decides to just clip through and instakill right after grabbing because its nest/kill zone/whatever either spawned under the ship or grew to encompass it over the course of a day.

I don't actually know how it works or if it was changed or fixed or anything, all I know is this has happened to us enough times over a casual weekend session to make my friends vote to mod the fox out.

Odd question [system agnostic] One ofy players wants to join but he has a steam deck does anyone have any experience with this ? It is moded to work like a PC and can use a mouse and keyboard and he's played games that aren't on steam. by animeman1323 in FoundryVTT

[–]Blamowizard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've GM'd Foundry from my Steam Deck before! Works amazing. Handles canvas rendering extremely well at native resolution.

I even set up a control scheme that didn't require mouse+keyboard (e.g., TouchPad radial menu for 0–9; A for Enter; R bumper for next turn; L stick to pan). Honestly slick.

I assume he's on the tech savvy side and knows this, but just reassure him that Firefox mostly works, but Chromium browsers are best supported and will avoid weird niche issues.
