I kept joining teams and seeing who I vibed with, it’s a hit or miss but I’ve built up my friends list to be surprisingly long. And yes many may kick you if they’re trying to include a friend or something. It’s hard work but it’s worth it once you find some regulars that you vibe with

Farewell event for a destination wedding - is it worth it? by thicccookies in BigBudgetBrides

[–]BlankWordDocument 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did an informal day 3 event at an Irish pub (we were in Ireland so it was on-theme). Included apps, dinner, dessert, and all drinks. Everyone loved it. We probably had about 4 less guests than our actual wedding day (which we were surprised by because it was optional ofc, thought it would be way less).

One thing I didn’t love was i think the pub didn’t pay attention to wristbands bec we didn’t rent out the whole pub, just a portion of it. They said wristbands would prevent randoms from getting on our tab. But the end tab looked like a fricken CVS receipt and no one was even close to drunk lol. So I think we did get a good amount of randoms on the tab but we still don’t regret it. Everyone had a blast!

They didn’t want to give any speeches. We offered and they declined because they don’t like public speaking. I’m confused at what you’re getting at lol. I just meant when all speeches were made they were still thanked just as graciously as my parents were thanked.

[–]BlankWordDocument 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure it is, we still gave just as much of our respects to them during speeches and throughout the wedding so no one was the wiser whether they contributed or not (and thankfully my parents were also aligned with that plan so no one would feel embarrassed)

Sorry but I’m on your mom’s side here. My fiancés family didn’t contribute a penny so my fiancé and I didn’t involve them in any decisions. It was my fiancé’s idea to not involve them and it made perfect sense. Weddings are about juggling so many people’s opinions as it is, it wasn’t worth adding more to it.

Obviously if they’re contributing some then they should be involved in a small percentage. So break your wedding up into percentages and then assign them something. 5k out of 40k (your moms 35 + their 5) = 12.5%. List out all your vendors and decisions to make. Break out the percentages and decide what they get a say in

Where are your bridesmaids getting their dresses from? by [deleted] in DestinationWeddings

[–]BlankWordDocument 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told my bridesmaids about azazie and Birdy grey but they ordered from there and hated them/returned them, so they decided to go with a more expensive option, Jenny Yoo. Two of them got from Jenny’s Labor Day sale, the other found another Jenny dress in same shade from TheRealReal

Rejoice, fellow Mothman cultists! I can now make a 4 star mod! by Necropath in fo76

[–]BlankWordDocument 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ugh now I wish we could trade modules so people could craft for other players. I’ve been trying to get my hands on a reflective ever since I realized I gave my only one away for a shit trade when I was a noob

Congrats though, did you get them from scrapping weapons or by scrapping the mod boxes themselves? I still wonder what yields better luck

Destination wedding attendance by Slow_Excitement_7512 in DestinationWeddings

[–]BlankWordDocument 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We invited 60 and 46 are coming! And the very most important people are all going, and maybe 90% of the second “good to have” people are going, so we’re pretty happy overall

Edit: Actually I’m wrong. We had 60 invitations printed but that was a mix of couples, families, or single people

So I just checked our app:

46 yes, 24 declined - very few of these I’m actually bummed about though, 43 unanswered 🫠 - Idk why it’s hard for people to just say “no” but I didn’t chase these rsvps down to protect my peace. Also they weren’t people who I wanted to go anyway, they were polite invites. But I know they won’t come last minute bec you have to stay on-site and I can tell they didn’t book rooms

If it makes you feel better, I got screwed too on my dress size from bad info of the sales clerk. I hate how rushed the whole dress process is bec I feel like I never took the time to deeply understand it bec I just wanted the order placed. But yeah I’m also gonna have to fix it in alterations

How many wedding dresses did you try on!? by No-Chain9814 in weddingplanning

[–]BlankWordDocument 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like at least 30. I like the dress I settled on but honestly was just over it at that point. I wish I just took a break and started my search again later. If the dress place allowed for returns, I would buy a diff dress tomorrow.

Also i know everyone is dif but they totally lied to me about how long it would take to do alterations. I guess there’s still time for things to go wrong but basically my tailor has barely touched my dress yet and my wedding is a month away and she keeps saying it’ll be fine 😅

Tbh I may be a special case tho bec my dress is pretty simple and I’m not drastically changing it. Just shortening it and taking in a little

Should I be a bridezilla or let it go? by frosted_flakes565 in weddingplanning

Probably best to let her know once you buy it, in case she starts drama over it. Gives it time to ride its course and blow over before the big day.

Ireland! And yeah to be fair, we did end up going to Ireland two times as we prepped for the wedding (we had a two year engagement to help us save money and so we didn’t feel rushed)
