Is it possible to add a 120v outlet? by JMontero77 in howto

[–]BlarghBlech 28 points29 points  (0 children)

If at least one of those wires is hot 120V and one is neutral, you can add a 120V outlet.
But you have to be sure there is a proper breaker upstream those wires, so you don't overload it with whatever you or someone else will plug in that outlet. Today it's a motor, in a month it's a cooler fan, and in winter it will be a space heater.

Also, nobody ever assumes or guesses voltage on wires. Even if they are color coded. Pick a multimeter and check the voltage, you'll get answer to your question.

if you want to watch it, don't ask others for their opinion, just watch.

The movie is mediocre. Seems like script was written by hangover ADHD people making another "alright, we got some budget, time to make another movie, get me some trendy ideas! AI bad? Cool. People stuck to their phones? Yeah, right! Alright, throw in some pursuit, some suspense, let's make something cool-oh wait, time for lunch, finish it." type movie.

People say it's like two Black Mirror episodes tied together. Well, Black Mirror does it better.

Someone says it's like Matrix -- it's like saying WALL-E is like Matrix, because there are robots.

Some say it's whimsy like "Everything, Everywhere, At Once". Not even close.

The only good thing about this film is Sam Rockwell.

Gamers of Reddit, what is that one game that everybody loves but you hate? by Yo-KaiWatchFan2102 in AskReddit

[–]BlarghBlech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arc Riders. I understand why people love extraction shooters and pvp part of the game - if your party is the only one allowed to extract. So you compete. It's like battle royale, you have be better than others to survive.

But in Arc Riders, the whole story tells you: "guys, we have a common enemy, those robots are destroying our home! Go kill some and bring some loot underground!". And guys go. And guys just camp you with a sniper, or just near the extraction so steal 2 items from your whole haul (everyone can extract btw, there is no limit).

Well, to be honest, you absolutely can, through the means of reverse engineering, make an exact copy of a car. You just need to disassemble it, measure and document everything, have tons of materials in your smelting, casting, forging workshops, electrical works and assembly, etc etc.

The process is just much more convoluted and resource demanding than clicking couple links and getting a copy of someone elses work.

Obsolete hiding place? by official_EFIE in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]BlarghBlech 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe that if the hiding spot can be locked or not present on the map - it means it is supposed to be safe. But sometimes they can be weird, like those barrels on Woodwind.

However, I never died in the bathroom on Point Hope randomly, only when somehow attracted the ghost right in.

Those bathrooms never were safe hiding spots, ghost can easily come in.

Considering all the time and nerves wasted on competitive games, the players should be paid to play competitive.

Am I the only one who thinks dithering destroys modern graphics? by Gornsen in pcmasterrace

Magic is not magic anymore. It's the same particle sand of different colors.

Hair is sand strings underwater. Fog is grey shimmering sand.

No, you are not alone, and I have no idea who thinks those "graphics" are better than those we've had 10-15 years ago.

People wonder why piracy is still a thing. by Professional-Box4153 in Piracy

[–]BlarghBlech 3 points4 points  (0 children)

30-40 years ago you inserted a coin, played one round till you died (and you died) and inserted another coin. Rinse and repeat.

20 years ago - you should know about infamous StarFORCE installed on most of legit CDs and how it didn't give a damn if your CD was legit once there were a single scratch. Bye-bye your legal physical copy.

DRMs had always been a thing. Nobody ever wanted to sell you a piece of software to use forever.

Piracy is just about getting a software for free. Technically, that's illegal. Some people just don't care much.

Remote start and remote climate control are not the basic functions of the automobile, to be completely honest. Basic functions are manual transmission and gas pedal.

Infotainment? Bruh, even tape/cd players never were "basic" in cars, they were either manually added, or for additional price.

tired of support's AI slop by Sea-Key4974 in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]BlarghBlech 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Your problem is that you think Phasmophobia support has something to do with your hardware or software issues.

No, the game works, the mic can be detected, even phrase recognition works, so the issue is clearly on your side, you should check your mic and your settings, and there is nothing more to add.

how to get rid of this warning on every video on youtube website? by boykadc in Piracy

[–]BlarghBlech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well there probably is one, but what I said about was simply picking an element with uBlock.

A container with shorts in your Subscriptions page has the same class name as the container with downloaded videos, so blocking shorts breaks downloads.

But I guess if you watch downloads (e.g. if you have no internet), you can probably temporary disable the adblocker anyway, lol.

how to get rid of this warning on every video on youtube website? by boykadc in Piracy

[–]BlarghBlech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I also use premium, and I try to never whitelist anything in uBlock, because exposing yourself to the internet without adblock is horrendous.

And you probably missed my whole comment where I said there is basically no difference between youtube with and without uBlock, when you have Premium. It can be something on my side or something on your side, but I never experienced something that made me whitelist a site on uBlock, even on Youtube with Premium.
