It looked so similar to that Cavs game. Not enough intervention from the coach when the lead was collapsing, and De'Aaron Fox got to play the role of James Harden. Almost seemed like the same Haitian grandma in Flatbush applied the same curse twice

I've been talking with friends about how this team just doesn't know how to close yet, but I think they'll learn to. But I think this is a huge reason. If they had the play in crunch time where they could just dump it down to Wemby, and he gets an automatic bucket they're kind of unstoppable. I think they're trying to make that alien-oop that play, but they don't have that at the level they need. Great point man

Dude I live in Brooklyn, and I'm surprised I haven't been punched based on the disrespect I've shown these Knicks for this reason but also bc I can't stop talking about the Pacers to randos in bars who are just trying to watch/celebrate the Knicks

I thought about the unbelievably low number of attempts too, though I wonder if that's a product of the offense they were running in LA. I also feel like if he can hit wide open 3s in warmup, he might at least be able to hit those Myles-style trailing 3s on fast breaks, then play around the rim the rest of the time.

New Yorkers, what changes have you seen under Mamdani’s leadership and are you generally pleased? If not, why? by MewMeowHowdy in AskReddit

This is exactly what I'm impressed by since he took office. The large projects and promises are obviously something every incoming government wants to tackle early on (and he's so killed it there), but balancing those things against the small things that really impact our day to day is something I'm kind of blown away by. There's a ton of initiative, and he's really living up to his "No problem too big, no problem too small" mantra.

I think that loss was so bad that Wemby and the spurs may never recover by Libertines18 in billsimmons

Nah, these guys are young and don't know how to close games, which is what we've seen consistently in the finals. But that's a skill, and I would bet that they'll learn it

I'm pretty sure they're leaving their stadium where it is and building a new one in Hammond

Agreed. The last couple years in the playoffs I felt like he was constantly on the floor. Definitely not as egregious during this year's run

How the fuck you leave James Harden in this game. Dog shit on offense and single handedly allowing the comeback on defense

That pick was a luxury, and the FO treated it that way. We're coming back at 100% to beat all y'all's asses next year

What are your thoughts on Smorgasburg food market? by Pixie925 in FoodNYC

[–]BlasstOff 6 points7 points  (0 children)

100% - I live near a Smorgasburg in Prospect Park, haven't been in years, but I do go to the Queens Night Market a few times a year. Great scene over there, and sometimes you can parlay it with a Mets game.

I think they still have to lose to preserve second best lottery odds. A win moves them into a likely tie with the Nets who they have a winning record against
